AMAZING!!,
By Mr D A Smith (Manchester, Lancashire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: War Torn Kingdom (Paperback)
The best solo RPG game ever! These books create the most amazing fantasy world. They allow you to roam about how you want to. It was planned that enough of these books would be released to cover the map that is contained in each of this series. However, I heard, that they charged too little for each book (in England I think they were just £5 or £6!!) so they couldn't finish the series for financial reasons! An absolute shame - I do anything for the last few books!!

I have been playing the Quest for more than 3 years, and it was a pity that only 6 books have been published. This is the most astounding Role Playing Games I have ever played. Specially for people who do not of RPG games on computers. I wish that Jamie Thomson and Dave Morris become aware of this and please publish the remaining 6 books. The descriptions in the book for places, characters and actions are so good that I have abandoned to play Fighting Fantasy Series. Best of all, for all readers, is that the adventure is unlimited and you can go back and forth.

What happened to the rest?,

I must be one of the luckiest buggers around considering the other reviews of this book. As a huge fan of fantasy game books I snapped these up straight away when I saw the potential. Aside from the lone wolf books, this series realy gives this genre of book a new edge. So why am I so lucky? Cos I have all the six books that were produced, and I have yet to really get into them. My idea was to wait for all 12 and then sit down for a right good session...it was not to be. According to WHSmith, the rights for these books has been purchased and the remained of the series should be out eventually..but when. These six books are imaginative, well written and if you have ever actually tried to write a fighting fantasy book, a work of complex art... If you can get hold of them, please do, they are definatly the tip of the fighting fanasty iceberg.

I have been playing Quest, known in the United Kingdom as Fabled Lands, for three years now and have created so many characters. The most positive thing i have to say about this book is that i am still playing it. I have all but book 3 of the first 6 books in the series and have done almost everything there is to be done. In response to the people who have written reviews of this book, i say that these books are not to easy at all. It seems to me that most of the people have only the first one or two books with a few exceptions. They say that the monsters are to easy, but if they get the rest of the books, they will soon find out that the main route to death in these books is not via monster but by other means. Also in response to the people who rave about their characters. MY CHARACTER Name: Akira Kurosawa (after the Japanese film director) Proffesion: Wayfarer Notes: Stamina: around 60 Rank: something like 20 Defense: about 45 Items: The White Sword of Nagil (Combat +8, you cannot lose this item in any way) Royal Sceptre (+6 to all abilities) Ring of power ( +1 to all abilities, +2 Defence, +5 stamina)

I love these books, you should have a lot, but I only have one book and look to buy another. But they are never availible and hard to find. I have a combat 12, magic 10, and thievery 9, rank 5 warrior, since I have to do the same things over and over again, it gets boring, so I would like the next 4 books and anymore that comes out, this is the best role playing game ever! It would be even better if it was a computer game, since I would love this game and a multiplayer network, then you could battle with people online! and truly experiance random polygon dice motion and incredible depth of graphics. I need the next few books and look to buy them!!!!!!

My son (age 10) and I have both enjoyed the adventures in these books. I am frustrated as to the availability of the next three books (or more) in this set; they don't seem to exist anymore!

These books are very good for someone with a good imagination. The only problem is the books' availability. I cant find the last three books!
