Good light-reading,
By Inga Magi (Arlington, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dog Handling (Paperback)
If you pick up this book expecting to get any sort of depth out of it, you will not get what you want. But if you need something to read by the pool or at the beach, this is your book! (Assuming you are a woman.) It makes you laugh, and sympathize for a woman going through a break up who reacts to it by making some drastic, yet confident, changes. Very cute story.

How to treat a man ...,
By
This review is from: Dog Handling (Paperback)
Cute story. Not as good as some I have read recently but good none the less. This one has a different setting than most of the "Brit Chick Lit" books do. It is partially set in Australia and London.Liv is about to get married but she is having second thoughts. But, after some talks with her Mom and looking at photos she decided that the wedding is on. Only to have her fiancé call off the whole thing. This is devastating and causes her to become depressed to the point her boss makes her take a sabbatical (can I have that boss). So she joins her friend in Australia. This is where the fun begins. She fins an old Flame and decides she has always just wanted him. Then she sets out to get him by following here friends advice "Treat a man like a dog, and he'll be eating out of your hand". There are a lot of wonderful characters in this one including cross dressing gay investment bankers...

This book is fabulous! It's an entertaining summer read that keeps you interested and longing for a sequel! I recommended it too my best friend and she loves it as much as I do. Any girl who's life has ever gone off the course she planned for can relate to this book. I loved the adventure, romance, turmoil, and twist of fate. Don't pass this one up!!!!

This book is fabulous whether for light reading,or recovering from you're own "dog handling" mishaps. You fall inlove with this book right off the bat-I don't think I ever put it down, it's addictive. Liv keeps your attention with crazy plot twists and unfathomable adventures- this is a great book for just about anyone who appreciates a good laugh.

A good beach read...,
By Finduilas (VA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dog Handling (Paperback)
Alright, so Clare Naylor's book won't answer political questions or rid the world of disease, but it's a book to consider if you're just intent on winding down with something easy to read that has some laughs. Keeping up with Liv's antics and her sessions of "dog training" proves to be amusing, but don't think too hard about this book after you've read it--the sugary quality of it will cloy you.Yes, this book is safest when restricted to reading on the beach, or anywhere else that doesn't require much thought.

romantic, fun escapism,
By Margaret (PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Dog Handling (Paperback)
When Liv Eliot goes to Sydney Australia her life changes dramatically. No longer the boring accountant with a broken heart and colorless life she is transformed under the tutelage of her friend Alex - she has her first one night stand, she kisses unsuitable men, she follows her heart back to the love of her life, who happens to be engaged to someone else. And with the ingenious doghandling techniques developed by her friends on her market stall, she changes her destiny. This book is a fun, escapist read, it'll transport you to warm beaches and a cool city and you'll want to live liv's life...and you'll definitely believe that anything is possible.

Entertaining and Educational,
This review is from: Dog Handling (Paperback)
While this book was well written and entertaining, it also was extremely educational. Although the book is fictional, a lot of the information in the book can be useful. If you are someone who is reading the title, or the back of the book and thinking to yourself, "will this book help me train my man?" Yes it will! Not only that, but it was definitely a fun read. I read the whole book in one night! Buy this book, it surely gets my highest recommendation!

cute book,

I found this book a quick and easy read for the summer--but at times it is a bit confusing to follow the writing style. Toward the end, it seemed that the author just wanted to finish it and so it was all just swept along. The characters are fun, and the idea of treating men like dogs with their balls is very entertaining. Other than re reading passages to figure out who was saying what, and to figure out that time had passed without knowing it in the scene, it was a fun summer get away.
