Another Masterpiece from Babette!,
This review is from: 8 Keys To Safe Trauma Recovery (Paperback)
Babette understands PTSD which empowers her to empower others. Her new book 8 Keys to Safe Trauma Recovery can be described as a CARE FULL masterpiece. Careful in giving the "reading client" safe choices to customize what helps them right now at whatever step of the journey they are at. Hard to express in words Babette's genuine care that emanates from the pages to lend comfort, hope and healing to her readers. She is full of care and it can be felt.Babette helps by lessening the shame..."to recognize that not only are war wounds not shameful, they are ALL honorable, whether or not they can be seen." This book is highly recommended as a gentle, yet powerful weapon in the war of your life...overcoming PTSD. Buy it and read it mindfully...with a highlighter in hand!

I heartily recommend and approve of this book. I like the blend of common sense, sound science and practical exercises.Rothschild's writing is accessible without being simplistic, and respectful both of the readers' sensibilities and of their resourcefulness. As a trauma therapist and supervisor I am familiar with her professional books, especially The Body Remembers: The Psychophysiology of Trauma and Trauma Treatment (Norton Professional Books) and I glad to have this to recommend to clients and to supervisees who are working with people affected by trauma. It will be useful too to the friends and family of trauma survivors in understanding them and knowing how to help. There is also some sensible advice for trauma survivors who in therapy or counselling, and indeed some useful pointers for practitioners. The associated newsletter and website ([...]) looks like a useful addition.
