5.0 out of 5 stars exercising your face and feeling the difference
this is a very good program, easy and you can actually feel the difference in your face.
When I used to lean forward before, I could feel my checks falling forwards also. I started the program and I felt how tight my face became. It is nice to know I am doing something healthier and safe with results.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointed in general, April 1 2012
This review is from: Carole Maggio Facercise (R) (Revised) (Paperback)
I bought the book and video after seeing such great reviews on this product but quickly saw that it was far more vague than I realized. The exercises for eyes and nose are helpful, but the ones for everything else are unclear. Maggio tells you to "visualize" moving your facial muscles. For someone that is just beginning to use their facial muscles in this way it seems like a hop over missing steps. How is one to "visualize" moving muscles? How does this do anything? It certainly didn't feel like it was doing much. I feel like this video/book begs a personal trainer as the exercises in it are highly dependent on proper form, but doesn't elucidate the proper form well at all.
Another problem, particularly with the cheek and lip exercises, is that the "oval" mouth position that is used in almost all of the exercises encourages nasolabial folding, which seems counter-productive to me. It's as though my mouth is meant to be in a perpetual sneer the entire workout.

**Update**

After using the program very diligently for only a few days I noticed that I was beginning to develop noticeable nasolabial folds where there were barely any before. I continued one more day, but seeing that it was getting only worse I had to cease. Since I have stopped they seem to be fading. In light of this potentially devastating side effect I would caution anyone who is not extremely saggy and old already to beware of using anything but the eye exercises in this program as according to both my own experience and the experiences of some other reviewers it may cause nasolabial folding to become worse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Book, Jan 17 2012
This review is from: Carole Maggio Facercise (R) (Revised) (Paperback)
If you want to see how you really look, study your driver's license or passport. It's not a poor picture, that is you! Are you happy with the picture? If you are not then I suggest you buy this book. It is very well illustrated with photos of the exercises and the written descriptions are very clear. As you progress you will start to feel the muscles working and you will know whether you are targeting the appropriate muscles or not.I took a face shot( no smiling) before I started and must admit I was so saddened by my appearance. I'm fifty four and thought I was actually aging rather well. That picture burst my bubble. If you only see pictures where you are happy and smiling you aren't really seeing how your face looks.I even asked my husband if I really looked like that and apparently the camera wasn't lying. I erased that picture so as not to feel discouraged. Silly, I know but it depressed me! Two weeks into the program I retook some pictures and really studied the areas that needed improvement. I emailed Carrole with some questions and she promptly returned my email with some suggestion on how to approach two areas that I wanted to correct to help balance my face. Four weeks into the program I again took pictures and again at six weeks. I had them developed and look at them for my inspiration. I truly see a difference and will continue on. This is something I know I will do for the rest of my life. I know in the months to come I will see more improvement as this is not a quick fix and will take time to get the full results. I'm happier with my appearance and my face feels more toned and looks younger. I feel I now have some control over my facial aging. It is important to moisturize and protect our skin but there is nothing in a bottle or jar that will lift your sagging muscles, they need exercise just like the rest of our body. You have nothing to lose by trying this program, but be patient.

5.0 out of 5 stars Carole Maggio looks good in print -- better in person!, Mar 27 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Carole Maggio Facercise (R) (Revised) (Paperback)
I JUST HAD to respond to the woman who wrote in about her disappointment about Carole Maggio's Facercise book and the supposed no change in Carole's face from "Figure 1" to "Figure 2" while performing the exercises. First off, newsflash here....books don't move like motion pictures, what does the reader expect?!!! The reviewer goes on to say how she looks like an "airbrushed 18 year old"!! Ha! Well if you think she looks THAT good in the book -- that is just a wonderful testimony to how well these exercises REALLY do work!!! In fact, I am just one of the lucky people who's been personally trained by Ms. Maggio, and I can attest to the fact that "airbrushed" she's not. She actually looks that good in person and even better! It appears to me that the BAD review has actually turned into a positive one! Carole has been working her own program for over 20 years and has the youthful face to prove it! Anyone who can't follow the instructions in the book, and by the way, many CANNOT follow simple book instructions, SHOULD buy the video and accompanying cd. They are a very inexpensive investment, and WELL WORTH their weight in RESULTS! I purchased the video because I wanted a reminder of Carole's hands-on instructions and after about 6 months time, I have the face of a person 10 years younger than when I started!! If you ask me ... the Facercise program truly works wonders!

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST READ For Any Woman Over 40!, Mar 28 2004

= A MUST READ For Any Woman Over 40!
Reviewer: A reader from Atlanta, GA
The New Facercise is a must read for any woman over 40 years of age! Not only are the exercises easy to follow, they really do work! It takes a little time, you must go slow and be patient, but it's well worth it! If people have trouble following instructions in general -- they might be better served using the video which is very inexpensive. Personally, I found the book to be very well written, as well as funny! I must say I have changed my entire face with this fine program....my brows are lifted, my cheeks full and lifted, my nose is perkier, my jaw firm and my lips are plump! Who could ask for more? The book also has many tips which I have followed like, taping between your brows in the evening to prevent night-time furrows. It sounds silly, but it works! Also, Carole makes recommendations on products with the newest ingredients in them like spin trap and D20. These products are the newest and most advanced available on the market today! I would never have heard of these products, had I not read her book! So all around, I'd have to say that in my book, The New Facercise is a MUST READ for anyone over 40 or for anyone seeking a TRUE NATURAL FACELIFT!! Thanks Carole!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great new book, but the video is just amazing!, Mar 27 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Carole Maggio Facercise (R) (Revised) (Paperback)
I purchased Carole Maggio's Facercise book and really liked it. However, once I purchased the video, I really began to see results! You can't believe what a difference I saw in my face in just one week's time. That's doing the exercise routine for just 12 minutes a day using the audio cassette which comes with the video! I really enjoy having Carole's book as a "reference guide", but the video and audio cassette that accompany it are like having her right there in the flesh as your own "personal trainer!" The video guides you through all of the exercises, showing you the proper form and the audio cassette is like having Carole standing over you telling you to "Pump, pump, pump! In JUST 7 DAYS my cheeks have raised up on my face (no implants here!), my lips are plumped up, heh no collagen!, and my eyes look like I've had an eye lift -- a natural one! Gotta get the video/audio cassette to go with the book....they are the best!! Facercise....gotta love it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Results, Oct 25 2002
By
This review is from: Carole Maggio Facercise (R) (Revised) (Paperback)
The book is good, but the video is best for really understanding how to perform the exercises. I have had remarkable, positive changes in my looks by regularly using the program, with many friends and co-workers commenting on how much better I look. The program is well thought out and put together.

Hats off to Carole for developing such a wonderful program!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing - I can't believe this works!, Jan 14 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Carole Maggio Facercise (R) (Revised) (Paperback)
I bought this book 4 months ago and have been using it religously ever since. I'm in my early thirties and noticed in the past few years that my jawline was becoming slightly jowled and the onset of a double chin was apparent, despite being normal weight. I noticed results in my eyes, lips and cheeks almost immediately after beginning the program, but within the past few weeks I am utterly amazed with the transformation of my face and neck. When I do the exercises my face even feels different in my hands. I have a jawline that is more defined than it has ever been, and when I tilt my chin up there is a hollow underneath and I can feel bone and muscle instead of fat. I didn't even know how bad it was until I realized how much I had gotten rid of! The sides of my cheeks were sagging, and now they are tight again. When I'm tired, I don't even look it. One of the things I love most is that for the first time in my life I have a defined upper lip! I never wanted to do plastic surgery later in life but thought it would one day come to that. Now I know I will never have to resort to it. I've given the book to my mother and can't wait to see what it does for her. I highly recommend buying the book or video before doing any cosmetic procedure or surgery. And it cost less than $20!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Facercise, Nov 17 2010
This review is from: Carole Maggio Facercise (R) (Revised) (Paperback)
I enjoyed reading this book about the facial exercises. This book provides 2 different sets of facial exercises with pictures and written directions as how to perform them. Good explanation of how everything works. The book is short and easy to access to review the exercises. I have done the exercises and am seeing results. I strongly recommend this book to anyone and the price was right.

3.0 out of 5 stars Unclear and imprecise, Jan 4 2009
This review is from: Carole Maggio Facercise (R) (Revised) (Paperback)
I do believe in the principle behind exercising the face as a year ago I added muscle building to my exercise program (I'm 47)and it vastly improved the loose skin under my arms. The new muscle really did tauten the skin. So I purchased this book and it does give some basic ideas BUT the instructions are really unclear. Poorly given I would say. At some points the written instructions and the visual next to it don't quite match up. At others, I don't even know what she's talking about. What, do I have to buy the freaking DVD now? I'm not going to do it. After purchasing this book I returned to the web and found lots of face exercises for free! Don't waste your money.
