Excellent Eve Dallas novel,

I have bought all the paperbacks of Nora Robert (J.D. Robb) Eve Dallas books and still re-read them regularly. Robbs' use of language and the imagery of Homicide Lieutanant Eve Dallas, her faithful aid Peabody and her zillionaire husband Rourke make a very pleasing mix of humour, criminolgy and phychology that holds the reader's attention.Origin in Death is one of the better novels of the series and deals with clonning, women produced on order and the murder of the two people, father and son that have perfected the technique. An excellent read.

In fact better than average for this popular series. What makes it better is the victim, who although we never meet him in life is a fascinating mix of good and evil. It's nice to see Nora Roberts remembering that this is a science fiction mystery, and to come up with a genuinely sfnal concept for one.

I have read the whole series, and they get better and better. Little disappointed Eve didn't mention to Roarke, about the first woman, who had a similar situation, to when she killed her father, and had a one night stand with him. I like how she's portrayed, as a cold cop, but Trina, kids and Mavis's stomach, scare her to death. Hope, the next one goes into her and Roarke, doing that coaching, for the baby's birth, for Mavis, since she is about due. Also, I don't really get why her and Roarke call each other by formal names, she calls him Roarke, which is his last name, he calls her Lieutenant or Dallas, and how no mention of any contraceptive being used, and they have no kids. Only thing I don't like, is how she treats Summerset, he's like family to Roarke, but she goes out of her way to make him mad.nother great mystery is ' Quest ' by Giorgio Kostantinos.

I'm a huge fan of J.D. Robb and the In Death series, and have read each and every one - some more than once. This one packs a lot of action into the read, which I like. There's more of a futuristic element than I've seen to date, and, of course, all those great characters hovering around Eve Dallas.

I'm a big fan of Lieutenant Eve Dallas, I have every book she wrote both in english and in french. I'm hardly ever disapointed by Nora Roberts and this book delivers on every level. I especially liked the part where we get to meet Roarke's family. It was a bit short, but ok. I can't wait for the next Eve Dallas.

Like others in the series, Origin in Death, was an enjoyable read. While the "In Death" series follows a forulma of sorts, it is still an entertaining read. Like others in the series, the story has twists and turns that are unexpected and the interaction of the series' characters provide depth to the series.
