This is the turning Point in the Series,
By Linda Tarrell (Verndale, MN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Animorphs #46: Deception (Paperback)
This book was awesome. It's getting more down and dirty now, since the series is coming to a close soon. There's way more action, there's more drama, and there's more of a reason to fight than just to survive. And when Ax almost does the unthinkable, it just makes it better. This feels like the turning point in the series, so it just makes it cooler.

The mini-series picks up!,
This review is from: Animorphs #46: Deception (Paperback)
I was worried about what the ten-book mini-series was going to be like after reading no 45, which wasn't half as good as I expected it to be. But this book was a huge improvement. There was a lot of fighting, but somehow it seemed to return to the quality of the old Animorph books, even though it was short. Ax's previous books have made me dislike him slightly; he seemed more and more arrogant. This book has changed my mind about him, showing why he has always been so careful before to not interfere in human matters, and the terrible choice he had to make. The ending was brillant and echoed parts of the Hork-Bajir Chronicles, especially. The book didn't change so much from the-war-with-the-Yeeks point of view, but it changed Ax's friendship with the Animorphs completely. One of the best Ax books recently!

Point of View,

This review is from: Animorphs #46: Deception (Paperback)
I loved this book. It was great to see how Ax-man saw human war through his own eyes. I mean, if humans are so primitive, then why shouldn't we see how human wars are through an alien's eye?

An okay book.,
This review is from: Animorphs #46: Deception (Paperback)
The Deception has plenty of action and a new enemy has come aboard for the Animorphs. The new fiendish Visser Two has a plan that Ax and the others must stop - or a major war will break out. Unfortunately, Ax is only left with one decision. But can Ax do the unthinkable?

I Wish I Could Do Two Seperate Ratings . . .,
By A Customer
This review is from: Animorphs #46: Deception (Paperback)
I wish I could rate this twice, because I have two different ideas about it. For plot I give it five stars. This is by far one of her best ideas, but . . .It's really written horribly. No expression, no details, just bare bone facts. I coudn't get into it until the very end when Applegate finally began 'writing' again. It's like she had a deadline to make the next day, so just tried to pass this off on the basis that the series' popularity would get people to buy it. She just jumps from place to place and idea to idea; it was like reading a sheet of notes. It's very disappointing, especially since I was looking forward to this one, since Ax is my favourite character, and he's always very funny. Wrong again. If you didn't know it was Ax you'd guess it was Jake: serious and in control. Applegate tossed in a couple 'this isn't my planet, I have to do what's right' lines, but that's the only place you caught a glimpse of Ax. So, way cool plot, with the Animorphs trying to stop Visser Two and the newly appointed Visser One from creating WWIII by bombing China, but disappointing, one star writing.

first of all, this plot, though confusing,is neccessary.Ax is showing signs of ruthlessness,so extreme he even knocked out Jake. even though people are right about this being the climax of the series, I want the series to never end.

What Happened!,

This review is from: Animorphs #46: Deception (Paperback)
OK, write this one off. After I read book #45, I thought, "Oh, wow! Things are really going to be moving now! I can't wait to read the next one!" But, this? There was really no point in it. The beginning was good, but the story itself was a real put-down. I hope that the next one (#47, for all you math wizards out there) will be better.

Horrible.,

This review is from: Animorphs #46: Deception (Paperback)
For a story arc book which promised lots of cool stuff, well, so far, changes have happened in the awesome #45 The Revelation, The Ellimist Chronicles, and #47 The Resistance (which is the latest book;it's really good.)The Deception was horrible, and had no point.I think the reader below this one is 100% right.Nothing happened...nothing! Action, yeah, like #37 The Weakness, but it was worthless. KA shouldn't have wrote it if she knew that it would turn out this bad.It sounded like a great book, but it's a real disappointment.
