Miriam Erick's "No More Morning Sickness" provides the information that any woman struggling with this potentially debilitating and frustrating symptom of pregnancy needs to read. Miriam Erick assures her readers that it "is not all in your head." She describes the history and treatments of morning sickness, and most important of all, she makes you feel like you have an ally in your struggle with this potentially horrid "illness." I have experienced the good ol' morning, noon and night sickness with all 3 of my pregnancies, and I found the information in this book comforting and helpful, though, I would steer clear of the recipes and head instead to the frozen food section of the local supermart. She does provide tremendous food lists and ideas for those who are frustrated to no end with their sickness. I think every Obstetrician should know about this book and recommend it frequently to those patients they know to be struggling.

With the Internet, there are now a number of new resources for woman experiencing morning sickness. In particular, there are more resources for those with hyperemesis gravidas (extreme vomiting) , and new theories for why it occurs (the bacteria h.pylori, linked to ulcers).
