My portfolio includes various cash positive real estate properties as well as businesses. I found this book to be excellent information that I have already found useful. I recommend this book highly to anyone interested in real estate. I also recommend another book I just completed called Stop Working by Rohan Hall which focus on the entrepreneural side of things. Both books are excellent for anyone serious about wealth.

As a veteren Real Estate investor with over 47 transactions I was not sure if I could learn anything from this book... boy was I wrong...
Starting right from the beginning this book was loaded with insightful information on the Canadian Real Estate Market.
It was refreshing to have a Real Estate investing book written by a Canadian someone who knows what he is talking about. I have read many books on Real Estate and this one was head and sholders above everything else.. a must read for everyone who is either interested in or is a seasoned Real Estate investor

Rarely, do I ever read a book from cover to cover, and usually I am very sceptical about things... but I can honestly say Real Estate Investing in Canada by Don Campbell was one of the most practical information loaded books that I have ever read.
From start to finish this book was loaded with 'meat & potatoes' I finished the book over this past weekend and I may read it again.
As a vetren Real Estate investor, I found at least 5 new things that I can implement tomorrow and especially the section starting on page #37 talking about the fundamentals of Real Estate, I found this section invaluable.

This is a truly amazing piece of work. It helps you to invest in real estate not by luck or gambling but in a systematic way. Some of the guidelines in this book such as identifyIng a property gold mine and what lenders look for are great advice. I'm rerading parts to fully comprehend it and applying all of the advice.
It takes out all of the emotions and guess work from real estat investing and is practical to Canada.

This book was just what I have been looking for, it was written in easy to understand terms, and the information was top notch.. I am just in the process of reading it through for the second time, there is too much information to digest on just one sitting. The information talked about how to submitt my offers and How to get the bank to say yes was 'over the top'

First off, I AM a member of the Real Estate Investment Network, I have read this book, and I return to this book quite often. I am NOT a member of a "cult" (as some reviewers "imply" and would like you to believe). This book lays the foundation for making real estate investing a long term wealth creation strategy.

Does this book provide a magic formula for building a Donald Trump-ish empire? No, and if that is what you are looking for, good luck! I believe what you are looking for is just down the road, and take your second right at the enchanted forest. Anyone who thinks they are going to "learn it all" in one book is destined for failure. What this book provides is a starting point for your real estate investing journey. Again, it lays the foundation and provides you with insights on what you need to know - and to further expand upon ON YOUR OWN - at the different stages of the investing process. It is NOT a get-rich-quick-scheme by any sense of the imagination.

Before you believe "reviews" - and that includes this one of mine - do your own due diligence; do not listen to pessimistic nay-sayers, and do not listen to adrenaline-pumping hype-sters. Get the facts, get all the information you need, and decide yourself. This book is not a bible; rather it is a "reference." Remember that, and you will do just fine.

If you're looking to get into real estate, in Canada in particular but the system could apply anywhere else as well, then this is the book to buy. It takes you through step by step on how to do everything you need to do in order to get started. He takes you through his system and it'll make real estate investing a whole lot safer and help you find the good deals.

Its true that this book isnt all encompassing. No books are (I hate shakespear...).

However: i know 2 people who use the rein system to derive wich locations will and will not grow your money. And thats the point isnt it? He writes in the first little bit that the REIN system is not a get rich quick solve all your problems book. Its for growing wealth. There are plenty of boos out there on specifics but this book is great at laying down a VERY SOLID FOUNDATION for making your money return in better shape than it left.

I always wanted to buy real estate for investment. I remember I almost bought 1 place and ended up not happening. I am glad it didn't work because there were so many things I needed to know first. Since I read the book, I was able to purchase 3 properties. I've re-read that book every single time. I have post it and highlighted sections all over. This is a tool! You want to get serious about investing your hard earned money? Then start by educating yourself first.

One last thing, buy the book by Peter Kinch first. It might be the 2 best tool you'll end up having.

Simply put, this book is great. My wife and I are Canadian ex-pats
that have lived in Japan for over 7 years. We have been active in
business and Real Estate investing in Canada for over 8 years and
have had the opportunity to study and read many RE books as well as
attend seminars. As our business is based in Japan, we really
put this system to the test- long distance! Prior to reading Don's
fabulous book and becoming REIN members we had 'pretty good'
success in our investments across Canada. But, what a difference
Don's system made. We were able to turbo charge, streamline and
improve our company dramatically since applying these principles.

Some key points that I found useful and that other readers may too:

1) Clear analysis sheets to understand what you need to have in a property.

2) Practical advice on the steps needed to get your offer accepted and how to build relationships for long-term success.

3) How to plan for the purchase and manage expenses as well as market for the right tenant.

4) Which areas to target and why. Plus lots of links to other free tools for Canadians.

The difference between 'pretty good' and GREAT! Truly equates to a
better more profitable product and experience for not only our
partners, but our tenants and associates as well. We also improved our
bottom line by adding systems to reduce our risk, save money as
well as select superior properties to purchase. We've watched
our business in Japan grow and we're pleased to say that referrals
from our satisfied customers are proof!
