FastPass,
By
This review is from: CompTIA A+ Complete Certification Kit (Paperback)
The main book in this package is quite nice, very detailed and has just about everything you would need to pass the exam. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE BIG BOOK! I can't stress that enough, reading the "FastPass" alone, despite the title, will get you a speedy fail. I was expecting the Fast Pass to be a review guide which would point to the more important sections of the main text, by contrast it is a condensed version which unfortunately leaves out a lot of CRUCIAL details.Being (admittedly) slightly lazy I mainly studied from the FastPass, and was amazed at how many questions from the 602 test were not covered at all in the text, luckily with some deductive reasoning and past experience I still scored very well, but the FastPass alone left me a little underprepared. If I were more of a beginner would have surely failed the test. My next goal of getting my MCTS (Configuring Vista) will most definitely involve studying the full guide, and maybe using the examcram guide afterwards. Good luck with your certification, hope this helps.

This is going to be short and sweet. I would not have gotten my A+ certification without these books. Anyone looking to get certified should pick up this collection.

Informative,
This review is from: CompTIA A+ Complete Certification Kit (Paperback)
I found this product very useful and very positive. The reason I gave 4/5 stars is it does not focus at all on Vista for the reason that the book(s) were written while Vista was coming out on the market. Other than that I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants to get their A+ CompTIA certificate. The images are descriptive. Having a computer with WinXP is my personal suggestion so you may follow the book by practicing the chapters hands on. One note of caution. There are MANY authors out there training you for the CompTIA exam. Beware! Not every book/author will be the best bet to get trained up on 'do-it-yourself' study. Always research the book and author before making the purchase. How? Easy! Google it! "*book name* reviews". And "*author's name* reviews". This book came in second in popularity but bought it because of the 2 extra books included in the package.

The book seems to be very easy to read with lots of very good information. What's left to be seen is if it really does help pass the A+ exams...Frank Meyer |
