Good Introduction to Twitter,
By
This review is from: Twitter Power: How to Dominate Your Market One Tweet at a Time (Hardcover)
Twitter Power provides a good introduction to using Twitter - from how to set up your twitter account, tips for creating a good biography, corporate branding on twitter, types of tweets, etc. The author does not recommend following everyone on Twitter (read chapter 4). He recommends quality over quantity - search for the experts in your area of expertise and follow them for a while. Learn from them what content is interesting and valuable to people. Then join the conversation and offer content that is valuable to people. Gradually, you will gain followers but it takes time and patience. The book also covers third party tools, metrics to track success and discusses how to integrate Twitter with your blog. Overall, it is a good overview of the tool and how it can fit into the marketing mix.

How To Spam Your Market...,
By
This review is from: Twitter Power: How to Dominate Your Market One Tweet at a Time (Hardcover)
This book should have been subtitled... How to Spam Your Market One Tweet At A Time.... It advocates following everyone you can find and then constantly tweeting them in the hope that some of them will buy your product. That's akin to the spammers code of harvesting as many email addresses as possible using email bots and then emailing them all in th ehopes that one or two will buy. It wont be long now before we have twit-bots doing just that and then the Twitter service will be abandoned due to spam. I'm returning my book. |
