I purchased this book, after a pregnant friend showed it to me, and I'm NOT pregnant! I love the beautiful photos, and the simplicity of the recipes. It's layout is great with sections for cravings! (wish I got this earlier when I had both my boys!) I love the Mild Curry Chicken Pizza on Naan and the Maple Walnut Caramel Corn...Delish! I especially love that I don't have to go to specialty grocers to find the ingredients! A great gift idea for soon to be mommies!

Fantastic book - whether you're pregnant or not,

I'm a huge dessert fan and never more so than when I was pregnant. Our prenatal instructor decided I must be expecting a girl based on my sweet tooth while pregnant. But of course you don't have to be pregnant to enjoy some of these recipes. In the "snacks and sidekicks" section, there are terrific recipes for banana, yogurt and juice layered popsicles, maple walnut caramel corn, slightly naughty biscotti and grilled peaches with pink grapefruit and mint - wow! In desserts, a few of my favourites are: almond mocha nanaimo bars, chocolate truffle souffles and chocolate raspberry fudge. All are really fairly simple to make and taste superb...

THis cookbook is so gorgeous to look at you start drooling before you start cooking! The layout is fantastic and having it organized in both a regular index and a cravings index is a great idea. There are also tips for menu plans for baby showers using recipes from the book. The food is unique, safe and delicious. Highly recommended!

The Gourmet Pregnancy is a great gift idea for any mom to be. The way that the "what are you craving" index is laid out is particularly clever. All you need to do is browse through the various types of cravings to find the one you are having and you'll find a variety of options to satisfy it. A dinner that I made recently which was delicous was the Salmon, zucchini and sweet corn latkes with dill sour cream paired with French fusion onion soup. They were both quick, easy, and super tasty and the best thing was they were actually good for you. It feels good to have a cookbook that is geared for you as you go through such an amazing journey. I highly recommend it!

What a fantastic book. There are so many easy to make recipes that are super yummy and do not need any fancy or hard to find ingredients. I especially love the section on the non-alcoholic cocktails.
