Finally a book about eating healthily by someone who actually likes to eat real food and not make you feel lousy about yourself at the same time! Melissa's book is a must have for every trip to the grocery store. I feel like many of her suggestions have been hiding in plain view right before my very eyes! With so many good tasting, healthy and convenient options to choose from, it truly makes me wonder what is wrong with the majority of food producers out there who insist on holding on to the old ways of selling convenience. By the way, I'm a long time fan of Dr. Hersberg...her first book "The Hersberg Diet" is a great companion to this book.

No, this is not one of those fake T.V ads :) I read the Rebel Diet and thought it would be impossible to lose weight while continuing to eat the foods I enjoyed and have the occasional "drink", but here I am two weeks later! The author writes this book in a really informal way that is easy to understand and follow. My wife and I have tried several of her recipes and they are fantastic! She's introduced us to new foods that we now enjoy and found ways to improve some of our own recipes. Best of all we don't feel limited or restricted to our eating habits. We even manage to have Ice Cream daily! This book is definitely worth the read!

I thought I knew everything there was to know about dieting, but the Rebel Diet gave me a whole new approach to weight loss. I've been following the Rebel Diet for about two weeks, and already, my stomach is flatter and my clothes fit better. But the best part, is that I haven't had to deprive myself so I know that this is something I can stick with to reach my goal weight, and most importantly, keep it off. The book is easy to follow (and coincidentally, a fantastic read!). It teaches the scientific principals that the diet is based on, and arms you with all the tools you will need to follow them. The suggested food and meal plans are also truly amazing. Unlike other diets, the Rebel Diet doesn't break the bank, which is great because before I know it I'll need that cash to buy those skinny jeans!

It truly is an understatement to say that Melissa knows what she's talking about. I have actually been seeing Melissa for about 8 months, but my review is in no way biased. If I didn't believe in what she's teaching me, then I wouldn't feel it necessary to review her work.

Melissa is a genius, and a pleasure to see weekly should you decide that's a venue you want to pursue. I've been following her plans and though there have been bumps in the road, have lost a significant amount of weight, and it's been easy. Currently I'm following The Rebel Diet, and enjoying myself immensely. The book is informative, an easy read and so catchy and entertaining! I couldn't put it down, and to be perfectly honest, most days don't. It's not just a novel to me, it's a handbook. The recipes are delicious and completely satisfying, as are meal and snack options. My first two weeks on the plan I felt there is NO way I'm losing weight- it's impossible- because I didn't feel deprived and felt like I was eating SO well! Turns out, after only two weeks in I'd lost 5 pounds and just felt so great. And this was using the lowest calorie options! She's done so much research and it truly shows. The foods she recommends are so tasty and filling but most importantly, don't make me feel like I'm on a crash diet. It's a difficult balance, but The Rebel Diet truly teaches you how to strike that balance, and to mix and match your foods accordingly.

I can't praise this book (and her other book The Hershberg Diet) enough. I'm so happy to have stumbled across them, and Melissa, because for the last 8 months I've learned so much about eating, food and my body, and Melissa teaches these principles in such an understandable (and non-threatening) way. For the first time in my life I feel like I'm on the right path to achieving my weight loss goals, and being able to maintain them for the rest of my life- and it's all thanks to Melissa.
