Why This Book is a Waste of Time,
By
This review is from: The Case for Israel (Hardcover)
Let me ask the question: why was this book written? Israel does not need a "case". It has survived for 55 years on its own with the occasional help from different governments. It knows where it is going. It is a democracy. This book preaches to the converts - those people who support Israel. We do not need this book, and I cannot see why it sells. The problem is not a lack of justification or "case", it is a lack of any arab interest in any solution other than kicking the jews out. That is the heart of the problem. Sharon and the duly elected government in Israel will have to finish the fence and impose a solution to end the destruction. Instead of giving Dershowitz $20. send your money to the LIBI fund direct to help support the guys on the front lines in the IDF, or a similar fund. My humble opinion. Jack in Toronto

Can dissemination of the truth prevent another holocaust?,
By Gary Selikow (Great Kush) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Case for Israel (Hardcover)
Alan Dershowitz explains in this succinct and blanced work, the situation involving Israel's decades long struggle for survival, against an Arab campaign to annihilate every Jewish man, woman and child in the Land of Israel, or as the anti-Israel hatemongers call it "Palestine."He objectively go's through the history of the region and explains why the Jews have a right to be there. Indeed, despite the cold-blooded deceptions by the left (especially in academia and the media) the struggle is simply of 5 million Israeli men, women and children just to survive in the little strip of land, which one can barely see on a world map-the ancient homeland of the Jewish people. The right, which the world granted in 1948 through the United Nations, and are now, through the United Nations, academia, the Media, the totalitarian Third world Lobby etc, are now attempting to withdraw. The 'Palestinian' terrorist onslaught against the Jewish people in Israel, is every bit as cruel and relentless as that of the Nazis against the Jewish people in Europe 60 years ago. The monstrous and inhumane Arabs that call themselves 'Palestinians' usually target women and children, and are supported today in their unfathomable cruelty, by those who claim to be 'progressive' and 'humane'. It is simply nauseating and frightening to realize that the world has come to this.

Balanced,
By David Freiman (College Park, Md) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Case for Israel (Hardcover)
Regardless of what some say, this book is extremely balanced. I am a moderate supporter of Israel, and I must say that I was taken back by some of the accusations Dershowitz makes about Israel. I came away understanding arguments for and against Iraeli policy.

Good, Solid Book and Argument,
By "scarpino8" (Thousand Oaks, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Case for Israel (Hardcover)
A good book on the history and morality of the ongoing struggle in the Middle East. Dr. Dersowitz goes over information on the long history of anti-Semitic attacks in Palestine. He explains how the Grand Mufti, who ruled over Palestine during British rule, was an extreme anti-Semitic and was even a Nazis collaborator. He discusses the moral implications of Israel's actions and some of the reasons for the many waves of Palestinian suicide bombers. I have looked up this information from other sources and have substantiated a great deal of it. It is a good read for people who would like to hear the Israel point of view on the Mid East conflict, rather than the Palestinian. I have recommended it to many friends as a must read.

Beyond a Reasonable Doubt,
By Mike Finn (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Case for Israel (Hardcover)
In this brilliant work, Professor Doctor Dershowitz makes the case for Israel (as if one needed to be made!) and makes it beyond a reasonable doubt. Reading some of the absurd critical reviews, one can not help but conclude that there is a concerted effort on the part of the enemy to discredit this work. Unfortunately for the enemy, the book is so well written as to defy criticism!Thank you Professor Dershowitz for setting the world straight!

Top-Notch, Easy to Read Book of Truth,
By TrezKu13 (Norfolk, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Case for Israel (Hardcover)
Alan Dershowitz has presented, in this book, a great and easy to read structure on the many myths or legends concerning the conflict in the Middle East. Alan is a fair, unbiased author who admits that he does not always agree with Israel and he does not always oppose Palestine...but at the same time he opposes propoganda that turns Israelis into villains. ...Every chapter is dedicated to such lies, such as that Israel is a racist state, or that the Israelis of today are just as bad as the Nazis of the 30's and 40's. It also goes into detail about the birth of Israel and shows how the Jews offered every thing from sharing Israel with the Arabs to giving up 70% of the Holy Land (including Jerusalem) to the Arabs...and the Arabs simply said no. It is also a recent book, much up to date, and therefore is an important work for people to read, especially now with the issue of Yasser Arafat and the groundworks for peace in the Middle East being decided. A good book that presents the Middle Eastern situation for the every-day-man to understand. If you're just getting into the conflict, this is definately a book you should read.

A Book for Those Who Seek the Truth,
By Critical Thinker (Toronto Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Case for Israel (Hardcover)
After reading Professor Dershowitz's detailed and intense treatise, my anger rises at the deliberate fabrications and shibboleths that permeate the media at the behest of "balanced reporting" and "political correctness". Professor Dershowitz, in logical and detailed fashion, deconstructs and smashes the myths propogated by the uninformed media and more malevolent purveyors of Palestinian revisionism.... Bravo to Professor Dershowitz for writing one of the fairest, eloquent and truthful commentaries as to the Israel-Palestinian dispute.
