1.0 out of 5 stars Made a boring topic even more boring, March 17 2011
This review is from: Principles and Applications of Assessment in Counseling (Hardcover)
This is not a very good book. The material covered is good and relevant for those who are going to use tests and assessments, but it was written in a very boring, poor way.
The first few chapters on the math/stats side of tests turned fairly easy concepts into very hard to understand ones.
Explain the concept.. give an example.. let us try a few examples.. and only THEN move on.
The author poorly explained the concept and then moved on assuming that we all understood. She then used this already not understood concept to explain the next few concepts which then were completely lost.
I have a degree in math and have taught math and even I had difficulties following her.
