5.0 out of 5 stars The funniest things happen... to a man who is/was a virgin
This book had me laughing so much I cried. Just imagine a man in his prime still a virgin trapped with two financee's in the Galaxy's most decadent city. His quest to regain his families ring, takes you from one gut buster to the next.

3.0 out of 5 stars Virgin alert! But its not the girl its the guy! Oh my!
Well this was a first. I've never read a romance were the hero was innocent and the heroine wasn't. I enjoyed this furturistic romance because it was different. Well this was a first. I've never read a romance were the hero was innocent and the heroine wasn't. I enjoyed this furturistic romance because it was different. Chloe Hall didn't go into great detail about the future but concentrated on the people and thier interactions more. I really liked that. She made the people the story and the outside was just that outside and just decoration.

The hero if the story Dekkan is from a planet called Amity. Its a planet where chastity is highly reguarded. So much so that men and women where a patch from puberty until marriage to stay chaste. Needless to say Dekkan is a virgin. He is engaged but when he has to go to the planet of Mariposa, a world known for its exotic pleasures, he almost forgets his fiance when he meets the very beautiful and very naked butterfly dancer named Ariel.

Ariel and Dekkan's father had met previously and Dekkan's father had lost a family heirloom gambling and only Ariel can help Dekkan get it back.

Ariel is very attracked to Dekkan and he is extremely attracted to her, especially since his patch quit working. Together they fight the passion that they are feeling for each other. This is a highly sexual romp where you aren't sure if they will ever actually get to consummate thier passion.

I enjoyed this book and it was easy to read. I read it in one afternoon.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Book is So Much Fun!, Feb 6 2001
By
This review is from: Ariels Dance (Mass Market Paperback)
ARIEL'S DANCE starts off a little rocky -- during the whole first chapter, I was thinking, "What is going on here?" -- but by page thirty, it really starts to pick up. In tone, it reminded me of a mix between Xena, Warrior Princess and Star Wars: it doesn't take itself too seriously and there are a lot of really funny moments. Also, I thought the characterizations of Drakkan and Ariel were excellent and sympathetic enough that I would want to get to know them in real life. The sexual tension is so hot in places that it seems to burn up the pages, and the ending was well-done.

In short, I LOVE this book. It has a delicious blend of outrageous humor, comedy of manners, impossible love, and a touch of the fantastical. So much fun! I will definitely be buying more of Chloe Hall's books in the future.

3.0 out of 5 stars not bad, but not inspired, Aug 17 2000

The plot was cute, but I felt the characters could have been a little better developed, especially the secondary players. Read this after you've read everything else you've wanted to read.

2.0 out of 5 stars Sophmoric, Jun 21 2000

If a title indicates something special with a character's dance, and the character herself has a unique ability, why is there so little reference to it in the plot? It was just a lure, and a poor one at that. A very common romance without that spark.

This book was truely wonderful. I love it! It had a wonderful hero who tried "so hard" to not fall "victim" to the "evil charms" of Ariel the beautiful butterfly dancer. The fact that his and her father set up the whole thing made it even more funny. Then throw in an irate bride to be from his home planet and you have a recepie for a wonderful book. Let me tell you the love scenes in this book were so hot. I wish that my husband would behave like Dekkan. Of course the fact that is a 20 something virgin helps make his first experience with his "control patch" running out very interesting. On the whole this book was wonderful and a must read!

5.0 out of 5 stars What a great, funny story!, Sep 8 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Ariels Dance (Mass Market Paperback)
I loved this story! It was funny and fun. Pure escapism, of course, but fast-paced and had me roaring with laughter right to the very end. A fun, fun read, and a perfect way to while away an afternoon.

1.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly disappointing, Mar 31 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Ariels Dance (Mass Market Paperback)
For a book that's set on a "pleasure planet," the sex scenes were pretty tame. If sexual tension is your bag, then this book will definitely appeal to you. If your romance novel tastes run to the more explicit, don't bother.

1.0 out of 5 stars Probably the worst book I have Ever Read., Feb 16 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Ariels Dance (Mass Market Paperback)
This boook is the worst book I have Ever read, the leading lady(Ariel) is weak and simple minded. The leading man is just as weak and a complete simpleton. If I had to read "what are you doing to me" one more time I was going to scream. The other characters in this book were just as weak and not very pleasant to read about.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great futuristic, funny romance., Nov 30 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Ariels Dance (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a great book for those of you who want something different. And different it is! The heroine, Ariel, is from the pleasure planet, Mariposa, while Dekkan, the hero, is from conventional and repressive, Amity. When these two join forces to obtain a stolen ring, the sexual tension goes soaring. Can Ariel change Dekkan's narrow-mindedness, and can he tame Ariel?

Read the book. It is an absolute trip finding out how they get along.
