Make no mistake, there is the usual GhostWalker ongoing battle with the sociopathic evil genius, Whitney, and multiple bloody, cruel and violent deaths in a variety of scenic locations but at heart this book is a love story. The repetitive self doubt of the heroine, Rose, and the desperate love of the hero, Kane, are somewhat repetitive, but believable and both Rose and Kane are, at heart, decent, courageous and deserve each other. As well, this book contains the most complete and compelling account of the delivery of a baby I have ever read. Feehan forgoes the standard cliche of the screaming mother,the panic and guilt striken father, with the happy fadeout afterwards. In fact, when crunch time happens, both do exactly what is necessary without panic or comic relief and the passage is a graphic instruction for the home delivery of a baby.
I have enjoyed all the GhostWalker books and very much liked this one.

I was eagerly awaiting the release of Ruthless Game and glad to say, the anticipation was worth the wait! Great continuation of the Ghostwalkers series...I love that we're getting to meet other Ghostwalkers from the various teams. I love them all and it'll be great to see them paired up. Can't wait for the next installment :)
