This review is from: Victory and Honor (Hardcover)
Now that WEB IV has joined WEB III in this adventure, the books are "slimmer with more filler" (you may quote me).The story is still there and it is a continuing adventure I subscribe to. However, and i know that I am overtly critical of this process because it has eradicated the genius of Tom Clancy, but there is merit to what has been said. The number of pages have been declined and the content contains more filler, the kind that is simply cut and pasted through the committee process. While that process may be financially rewarding, the same cannot be said for the reader. That Mr. Butterworth is who buys the books that pays for the committee of writers. We however have been buying your books because of you the writer and your style. When that has gone, so are the readers. You may want to write that down. This book now sits on the shelf along with the first volumes of this series. But it is not a place of honour. Just to complete the picture. That my friends is not conducive to investing in future novels if this mode of delivery to the consumer continues. |
