Great series., Jan 25 2000
This review is from: AMERICA 2040: CITY/#3 (Mass Market Paperback)
This series of books was very well done. It's a shame that Bantam Books canceled the series after only five volumes. Other than Volume One, I don't remember alot of details since it has been awhile since I read them. The books seemed very scientific in detail(whether any was accurate or not, who can say), but not boring. The best thing of the series was that it was a continuing story(not like Star Trek or Star Wars novels, where if you don't read the previous one, it doesn't really matter). A lot of ideas from these books found their way into Star Trek: The Next Generation(which was new at the time). The Admiral was Data. Turning Grace Monroe into a part cyborg, part human happened before The Borg were introduced(or 7 of 9). The ending to the last volume was absolutely fantastic. Too bad we will never see Volume 6. Any body who would like to see more volumes in this series should write Bantam Books. I don't know if it would do any good, but it couldn't hurt. The author Evan Innes, was a pen name, so they probably used different writers for each book, but they were all good.
