4.0 out of 5 stars Worth reading but there is a glaring contradiction., Oct 18 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Corporate Mystic: A Guidebook for Visionaries with Their Feet on the Ground (Paperback)
While I think there are many elements and ideas in this book that are good and solid messages and reminders for leaders today, I do have a problem with that fact the book is dedicated to Bob Shapiro, Chairman and CEO of Monsanto, stating that he has transformed "business to improve the well-being of people and the planet we live on." Just a reminder: Monsanto is the manufacturer of Agent Orange and other weapons of mass destruction.

5.0 out of 5 stars Necessary reading, whether you're in business or not., May 25 2003

The only complaint I have is that this is passed off as a business book. Nonsense!! Leave out the "corporate" words & you've got vital advice for anyone literate enough to open it. No mumbo-jumbo, either, just some solid advice on how to get ahead in life by being honest & expecting the same. Read it every few months.

5.0 out of 5 stars a manifesting must, Feb 13 2003

Having run a business for over fifteen years, this book
warmed my heart! In a clothing market, it's seemed
like the words "honest" and "business" couldn't
exist in the same sentence. Very successful people
do it! I' learned a lot from reading this book and
feel like I can relax into the abundance I've created.
I intend to integrate the theme of this book into even
greater abundance! Truly an important writing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Challenge yourself to explore what's blocking your success., Nov 6 2002

This review is from: The Corporate Mystic: A Guidebook for Visionaries with Their Feet on the Ground (Paperback)
I have always been a believer in the concept of successful leaders being those who model the behavior that influences their company culture. This book is focused on the relevant and practical observations and actions that make a leader into a down-to-earth visionary. I have been using the suggestions every day and have greatly improved my business relationships and my presence within leadership. Challenge yourself to explore what you and your behavior does to contribute to your own and others success. EASY-TO-THE-POINT-IT WORKS!

5.0 out of 5 stars Don't Be Turned Off By The Title (Mystic), Sep 13 2001

As an avid reader of many business books I had this one shelved for the better part of the year, finally cracked it open only to reveal thoughts and introspective ideas how to "become" a better person and leader. Simple and obvious points are usually the ones we overlook everyday because we are usually looking for complex solutions to our problems. But the points outlined here are practical and immediately useful and implementable. If you think the problem is "out there", read this, you'll see what you and your actions (or inactions) did to contribute to the problem and what you can do now to head off problems. A MUST READ. AN EASY READ. AN ENJOYABLE READ. YOU MAY BE PUT OFF BY THE WORD "MYSTIC" - DON'T BE!!

One of the brilliant books that i have ever read this book makes one thing about the endless posibilities one has in life and the ease with which they can be Achievd if we decide not to mess things up at the ground level... though it kept me wondering whether the successful mystics would be sucess ful always.. it kind of gives one the feeling that the the rules mentioned in the book are permnenant and the outcome is like that of the rule of gravity universal and undisputable... worth reading once......and revist multiple times worth a buy highly recommended..

5.0 out of 5 stars A practical manual we have to consult very often., Jun 3 1999

Innovation, creativity, leadership start in the individual and the Corporate Mystic distill in a very condensed and practical way how CEOs and leaders by committing themselves to integrity foster commitment, vision and innovation in organizations, and this then explains why in them, they so often fail. Today when we hear everyday these words The corporate Mystic is a must-read for every one, but more than a book to read it is a practical manual we have to consult very often

5.0 out of 5 stars a clear, brilliant work on authentic communication, Jun 26 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Corporate Mystic: A Guidebook for Visionaries with Their Feet on the Ground (Paperback)
This extraordinary book is the most ruthlessly on-target review of leadership and communication that I have encountered or expect to. Most of what's here covers not what to do, but who to BE to lead and conduct business most effectively. If you are willing to truly take on what is shared here, your business and your life will not be the same again. This book shows that the only obstacle in your path has been you, and assists in getting you out of your own way. I have lost count of how many copies of this book I have bought and passed on already, but many of the recipients have affirmed that it is the best book they ever read, and that it has certainly made a huge difference in transforming businesses, teams and specific crucial meetings. An absolute must read for anyone with their eyes open.
