4.0 out of 5 stars A glowing review of a really funny book, Sep 15 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Who Is Bugs Potter (Paperback)
After Interlibrary Loaning the book, I determined to get my hands on my own copy. I finally purchased a copy (50 cents at a yard sale), and I have now lost count of the number of times I've read it. The charming story of Bugs and Adam's unpredictable friendship is climaxed with an amazing scene at The Ontario Place in Canada. I can't figure out how Korman can top this book, but I am currently trying to figure out how to read the second Bugs Potter book, which is out of print and was only printed in Canada.

This review is from: Who Is Bugs Potter (Paperback)
The auther of my book Who is Bugs Potter? is Gordon Korman. He wrote his first book in grade 7. He writes comedy and is Canadian. In my book Who is Bugs Potter the main chacters are:Bugs Potter, and Adam Webb. Bugs Potter is a teenage boy who has curly black hair. His room mate Adam Webb is a teen age boy with short blond hair. Bugs Potter likes adventure. Adam webb does not like adventure but is always trying to keep Bugs out of trouble. This book is about two boys who are roomates at a music festavile in Toronto and are not friends at first because Bugs always gets Adam in trouble. Srortly after they get there they meet two girls named Laura and Sylvia. Laura likes Adam but hates Bugs because he always gets Adam in trouble. Sylvia likes Bugs and is starting to get mad at Laura because of all of the bad things she says about Bugs. Another character in my book is Bi Bi Lanny a famouse movie star who is staying at there hotel. The setting in my book is in a hotel in Toronto. This book is in the present. I liked this book because I thought it was funny because of the way Bugs thought positive and always got his way.I also thougt it was funny because he was so anowing. By:KIRK HARRIS

This review is from: Who Is Bugs Potter (Paperback)
The author of my book which is Who is Bugs Potter is Gordon Knormon he wrote his first book in grade 7. The setting is a hotel in Toronto Ontairo, Canada for a band. The 2 main characters are Bugs potter and Adam Webb there are other people in the book BiBi Landly Charly and Claire and the two people that are robbers are Barny[not the big perple fat one on T.V.] and Ralph. There once were 2 boys that went to a hotel [Adam and Bugs] and there room mates BiBi was in the same hotel and she thought she had a curse[ from a neack lace] Claire said she did'ent have a curse Charly said that to. The 2 robbers wanted to steal it Adam went to his room and Bugs had rock posters all over the wall and he was druming on his knees. When adam went to sleep the posters glow in the dark.Them and the rest of the band went to boring places like clasic music concerts and mucmems Adam and Bugs would sneek out at 11:00 and go to rock concerts and Bugs would play with them thay did that about 8 times.Thay would run out of the clubs and go back to the hotel. Thay have to go to play at Ontairo place and Bugs toldall the people in the rock club. At Ontairo place Ralph and Barny stole the neack lace and put it in adams flute cacethay tryed to steal it again and adam cought themand grabed Barnys leg and the neack lace fell on to BiBis legs and she got it back. My favort part was when they play at Ontairo place.I liked this book cause it was funny cause bugs was funny. Reading this was funny.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bugs Potter is getting famous., Jan 25 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Who Is Bugs Potter (Paperback)
The author of my book, "Who is Bugs Potter", is by Gordan Korman. Gordan Korman wrote his first book when he was in grade 7. "Who is Bugs Potter" is about two boys, Adam Webb and Bugs Potter. They are roomates at a Toronto hotel called Hotel Empress. Adam has blond hair and Bugs has black hair, Adam is a flautist and Bugs is a drummer. Bugs doesn't care if he gets in trouble and Adam does. The setting in the book, "Who is Bugs Potter" takes place at a hotel called Hotel Empress. The hotel is in Toronto, Canada. The problem in the book is that Bugs is breaking the rules that Mr.Darby made. They both are getting in when only Bugs is supposed to be getting in trouble. Adam and Bugs are roomates at Hotel Empress. Every night they are sneaking out to night clubs to see different bands. Bugs is making Adam come with him when Adam doesn't want to go. At intermission Bugs sneaks backstage and after intermission Bugs ends up playing with the different bands. Soon Bugs becomes famous throughout Toronto while a movie star named BiBi Lanay is becoming jealous. BiBi doesn't know that two burglars are trying to steal the famous Falusi Emerald that BiBi owns. BiBi thinks that the emerald is cursed because she keeps on hurting herself when she is wearing the Falusi Emerald. Later on when BiBi hurts herself again, she takes the emerald and throws it out the door into the hall. When the two burglars were coming down the hall they caught the emerald and ran to the lobby. When they were in the lobby of Hotel Empress they hid the emerald in Adam's flute case. When Adam was at the High School Band Festival at Ontario Place setting up, he opened his case and saw the emerald. He panicked and he couldn't play his flute for the warm-up. Adam finally got settled down and played. At the end of the show the lights went out and flash bombs went off. Bugs started banging on his drums on his drums while one of the burglars tried to steal the emerald out of Adam's case but Adamm tripped him and the emerald went flying onto BiBi's lap. Then all of Bugs' favourite bands came on the stage and played with Bugs. BiBi came on the stage and everyone took pictures of BiBi and Bugs. That was just what Bugs wanted. I rate this book five stars because it was interesting because I like drumming and the book was about a drummer. The strengths for the book was that Gordan Korman wrote the book to be funny. The weaknesses for the book is that I couldn't figure out what some of the words meant.

This review is from: Who Is Bugs Potter (Paperback)
This book is wonderful for kids and adults alike. It had me laughing out loud - and I've read it about 7 times! Bugs Potter is a rock enthusiast who imagines that everyone shares in his passion. His refreshing innocence, and his childlike, sanguine love of everyone around him are what make this book so memorable.
