Read the Journal,
By J. Chiang (Gaithersburg, MD) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mina's Journal (Paperback)
What can I say about Mina's Journal? It's vampire fiction with a twist. It has aspects from many other Vampire novels and it has many aspects that are brand new to the genre. It has the first vampire animal I've ever read about and someone that wanted the gift so bad, that they took it. A great read. Highly recommended by this upcoming author and friend.

A CUT above the rest...,
By Ken Kupstis (Kissimmee, FL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mina's Journal (Paperback)
Vampire fiction has always been a mainstay of horror, and as such it's becoming a dumping ground...however, Kimberley Zagoren's MINA is a CUT above the rest, a hip-hot-NOW vampire with conflicts and compassion; not an unstoppable, super-powered monster but a realistic being fighting for survival and love. Zagoren's gifts for characterization, dialogue and humor makes her a hell of a lot easier to read than Anne Rice, and makes MINA'S JOURNAL a promising debut...and required reading for Goths everywhere! (K.K., author of CLOWNWHITE and INHUMAN RESOURCES)

An exciting, vivid read.,

I'm overly critical. Trust me. If you don't hear me complaining, check my pulse. However, my nitpicking took a back seat to the storyline in this book. It's definitely a pageturner! I've read some books that should be used as implements of torture, but this is certainly NOT one of them! The characters are very real and complex. There are plenty of jaw-dropping twists to keep you on the edge of your seat. The descriptions are so vivid I felt like I was right there with the characters. And my final telltale for a good book, it lingered on my mind for weeks once I finished reading. It's not one you'll soon forget. Definitely worth checking out! You don't even have to be a "vampire freak" to appreciate it, for its themes are universal. If your boring library craves a little spice, feed it this jalepeno!
