These Fake books are excellent for all levels of musicians. The melody line with the chords allows you to improvise and gives you all that you need to really enjoy your music. The variety of music provided is excellent.

I ordered this book in hopes of having some of the songs that were popular in fifties with groups like Kingston Trio, Brothers Four, The Weavers,Etc..As the title says, these songs are world wide from times I do not know. The majority of the songs are unknown and unheard of to me. There are some of songs heard back in fifties, sixties, but most of the songs presented have older versions and words which don't apply to the music I remember and have on records from those times.

For me, I can't give a high rating because of the content of the songs presented. I would have liked to see more of the campfire type of songs that most of have tried to sing but the words got lost or changed. You know, were everyone is just in a light mood and enjoying a nite singing songs!

If the buyer of this book is just looking for songs to transpose into their style of music, there are certainly enough songs presented. I'm just not sure that many of these songs could be updated to new standard of words and music that can be enjoyed at the campfire sing alongs in 2008 and longer. Sorry, but that's my feelings about this book.
