5.0 out of 5 stars Informative, entertaining, and all around a must buy!
Written between Flood Tide and Atlantis Found, this book should be in any Cussler fan's library. 3.0 out of 5 stars For the true Clice Cussler fan
An "encyclopedia" reference to all of Clive Cussler's writings. Great opening chapter. If you are a Clive Cussler fan this book is for you. The complete reference guide to the Dirk Pitt series.

Written between Flood Tide and Atlantis Found, this book should be in any Cussler fan's library. It starts out with a clunky but entertaining enough story where Cussler wanders around a party in the hanger and reminices with Dirk's allies, girls, and villains before getting to the man himself. Then there's an interview where Cussler tells his whole life story, and it's a simply fascinating rags to riches tale. We continue with the best part of the book in my opinion, complete plot synopses and background info on every Cussler book up to Flood Tide, including The Sea Hunters. Finally, there's an encyclopedia of all the people, vehiclles, locations, and everything else in every book. It ends with the tantalizing first chapter of Atlantis Found. I had actually read that book first, but it would definitely make me want to buy it even if I wasn't a Cussler fan. Any Cussler fans out there, you must have this book!

4.0 out of 5 stars would be better without reunion, Mar 8 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Clive Cussler and Dirk Pitt Revealed (Mass Market Paperback)
the book will fresh up your memories, the interview is good and the summaries are great, and so is the "encyclopedia". but the reunion is totally dumb. a lot of dead people talking about who was the worst badguy, please, that's stupid.

From " The Reunion " to the plot synopsis', this is a terrific read. Cussler gifted us with a most extraordinary little tale in The Reunion...which I won't give away here. The bio is wonderful and I found myself thinking " what I wouldn't give to have this guy as a neighbor. " It is all things Pitt and quite a bit Cussler, which may or may not be the same - but, it has been a repeat read and a book I have passed on to family and friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars For the diehard Dirk Pitt/Clive Cussler fan ..., Jan 22 2001

As other authors have done, or had done for them, (see Dean Koontz and Stephen King), Clive Cussler has put together an encyclopedia, if you will, of everything you've wanted to know about the Dirk Pitt series. Cussler has included synopses and character "i.d.'s" from every Dirk Pitt novel, up to "Atlantis Found". A prologue to "Atlantis Found" is even included. You'll also enjoy the sections on the Cussler car collection and Dirk Pitt trivia. If you are a long-time fan like I am and occasionally re-read some of the Pitt novels, then this compendium is for you. I would even recommend it to those just beginning the journey through the Pitt novels. Anyway you slice it, if you buy this book you will want to hang on to it and use if for reference from time to time.

What a dispointment.. AFter reading all Pitt's adventures, I thought his writer would make a much better job when writing a kind of autobigraphical book. But the pattern chosen to tell his story is not good at all, is boring.

1.0 out of 5 stars Drowning in testosterone; wallowing in ego., Jan 28 2000
This review is from: Clive Cussler and Dirk Pitt Revealed (Mass Market Paperback)
My spouse has been a devoted Dirk Pitt fan for years, and told me I just HAD to read this book! Spare me!

To enjoy this book you must be buried in serious unreality; you have to be a Dirk Pitt fan. Dirk Pitt's name tells all. His first name - Dirk. A knife, for goodness sake. Not to mention the major-league echoes of the standard phallic nickname. It is a name that reeks of violence and danger. Then Pitt. Well, armpit of course! Manly sweat, hair, and darkness! Some more reeking for you, boys.

So Dirk Pitt reigns as the king of testosterone, romping unscathed through battle scenes that would take an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie character down, and uninfected through countless carnal entanglements with unbelievable babes.

This book apparently was written to help keep straight the many names of similar characters (the bevy of unbelievable babes, for instance), and details of similar illogical plotlines in Cussler's many unbelievable books. For the besotted fans only!
