The title holds true,

We get to know Alexandra the heroine at an early age as well as our hero Jordan. Alexandra is a great heroine as she is not conventional in any way and is extremely intelligent and witty. Jordan is complicated, smart and intriguing. Of course Judith puts our heroes through many trials and tribulations which keeps this book highly entertaining. This book has it all!

I was always one of those people that are very sceptical of romance books, but one day while on a trip, lacking on reading material..i stumble upon this book for half price.I havent look back since. This book is fantastic! It left me spellbound for hours and i just do not want to put it down. This book has made me eat all the horrid things i said concerning romance books. The heroine is not your damsel in distress, she got spunk! The hero is not such a prince charming and they dont talk weird at all.No "please darling, let me look at your eyes that looks like two shining stars frm the heaven above'.None of that. Fantastic read,i've read it 3 times already and i suggest you do the same thing too.You wont regret it.

after being strongly recommended by a good friend I decided to read 'Something Wonderful.' I expected you're fairly typical romance gone awry and a predictable ending but this book was anything but!Fast-paced with witty dialogue, breath-taking scenes and memorable characters this book is my all-time Judith McNaught fave! Its amazing to find an author that can make a reader truly 'feel' the turbulent emotions of characters. I also recommed 'Whitney, my love' as well as 'Until You' to readers who enojoyed this book as much as I did.

Melts your heart,

This review is from: Something Wonderful (Mass Market Paperback)
I first read this book 10 years ago when I was 12. I've long since outgrown the historical romance reading frenzy of my early teenage years but I decided to write a review because even if I no longer buy and read any new historical romance novels, I still return to my Judith McNaught books whenever I need to get away from reality and just escape to fantasy land.I think we all know that whenever you read a historical romance novel, you're not going to get a literary masterpiece with accurate historical references and in-depth social commentaries. It's not Jane Austen or Emily Bronte so please stop comparing it those great novelists' works. They're plain light-hearted fare not meant to be taken seriously but simply enjoyed. I've read quite a handful of other historical romance novels by other authors but only Judith McNaught has managed to truly move me and make me want to fall in love. I don't know how many times I've read and re-read her works but I can assure you that once you read one, you'll want to read all the others. Something Wonderful is one of my favorites and I highly recommend reading Almost Heaven right after reading this book. If these two don't manage to melt your heart, I don't know what will.

Don't you just think McNaught writes the best romances ever?,

Sometimes. And "Something Wonderful" is one of those times. McNaught never failed to write the kind of novels that you HAVE to read on a one-sitting arrangement. She keeps the excitement and anticipation on every chapters without inducing boredom. Instead, she makes me want to push and read all the way to the end just to see if everything will be sweet and dandy. It was sweet, heartwrenchingly sweet in fact that it made me cry on the last few pages. Alexandra is an innocent who made me groan from embarassment and laughter when she obliviously humiliated herself from time to time. Jordan is the complete opposite of his optimistic child-bride--the perfect antidote for his legendary cynicism. I think this book is so well-proportioned that I didn't even find the short gap of Jordan's assumed death as frustrating as Paradise's. Instead, I was engrossed and hooked to Alexandra's flight of re-building her dignity and standing in the ton, that I was not so bored and annoyed while waiting forthe two characters to meet again. The ending, u can expect to be a "McNaught drama" but still, prepare urself to the usual fulfillment and joy McNaught gives after reading a good book that's worth your while.

not McNaught's best...but a great story!,

McNaught is my favorite author, hands down. The only reason that I don't give this book 5 stars is because of the period where Jordan is gone and Alexandra has to face British society and the reality of the nature of her husband...I was bored during this part and never have read it again...I skip it when I re-read the novel and it is a significant portion of the book.Alexandra is a great heroine. She is a strong woman with a belief that the world is a wonderful place: dirt smells nice and people are all noble and good. After saving a man's life in the woods she is thought to be compromised and forced to marry Jordan. Jordan is actually a great hero. He is a rogue in the begining of the novel, forced to marry a young girl that he feels nothing for, he won't admit he is attracted to her! Jordan goes missing for a time in this novel and Alex is forced to face the reality that the man she married is not perfect. All the time he is gone, Jordan pines for his perfectly innocent wife...by the time he makes it back safely to her arms will they be to different to fall in love? read the book to find out! As I said above, the part where Jordan is gone kind of ruins this book for me. This is amongst the shortest of McNaught's novels and they are separated for a while. On the other hand, this separation made this novel more unique than many other McNaught novels (which usually dirve the characters apart using mis-communication). This book is a refreshing change to average romance novels! McNaught is a born story teller! The end, which I would never give away, is great and always makes me cry and laugh!!

What can I say? The best as usual. Jordon is the ultimate man! Watching their love grow was amazing. The love scenes were sizzling but not trashy as some can be and it was all intertwined with a beautiful and exciting love story. Alex tries so hard to fit in with London society and it is touching to read. It made me feel as though I were there watching everything unfold. Don't miss this one!

I honestly believe that Judith McNaught could write a grocery list and have fully developed characters and sensuality to die for. You cannot go wrong here. Buy anything with these two words: "Judith" and "McNaught." It doesn't get any better.
