What a Great Book,
This review is from: And Tango Makes Three (Hardcover)
I am a teacher and I bought this to use in my classroom. The kids (Grade 2's) absolutely loved it. It got them asking so many great questions, from who can be part of a family, to where do babies come from (because they wanted to know why only boy and girl couples could have eggs) and more. It also got them thinking about diversity and acceptance... that families and people can be different and that's ok. There are some recent developments with this little penguin family. I would recommend checking that out as well when you read this book. And what a great book it is.

A Beautiful Story about Family,
By
This review is from: And Tango Makes Three (Hardcover)
This is a beautiful story of a family that found each other through chance. A lesson of unconditional love, even when it looks a little different. My children loved Tango and his family of two dads.

Finally...,
This review is from: And Tango Makes Three (Hardcover)
This is a great book, with detailed drawings and a real life storyline...This story is quite simply about a family...a different family than most..but a family all the same..who want nothing more than to be happy...if you see it solely as a gay couple get an egg then truly you have missed the point... Love comes in many forms and it comes without prejudice or the need for grandiose moments...

A beautiful story,

This review is from: And Tango Makes Three (Hardcover)
This is a great book that introduces the idea of different kinds of families and different kinds of love in a way that kids can understand and relate to. The illustrations are just gorgeous, very expressive, too cute.

Favourite children's story,
This review is from: And Tango Makes Three (Hardcover)
This is absolutely one of the cutest stories out there that is based on truth. It's banned in some schools in the southern states which makes me love it even more.

This book is excellent; illustrations are great and the inclusive message is pretty much alone in the world of children's literature. It is a treasure.

Ahhhh!,

This review is from: And Tango Makes Three (Hardcover)
When I found out that 'And Tango Makes Three' was number one on the list of America's most frequently challenged books, I knew exactly what I had to do. I ran right out to the library and checked it out. Then I sat at my kitchen table and read it out loud to my sixteen year old daughter. What an amazing, lovely, sweet, touching, book. And it's a true story. I think the people who challenge this book - because of "Homosexuality, Religious Viewpoint, Unsuited to Age Group", no less - must be the same people who object to Bert and Ernie for the same reasons. They are PENGUINS in a ZOO and this is what HAPPENED! There is no sexual content at all. Just a lovely story about two of God's natural creations and a thoughtful, kind zookeeper. Now I need to go find a copy to buy so I can read it to my grandkids - if I ever have any.
