For a step-by-step, usage guidance on Analysis Services toolset of SQL Server 2005, the authors have done a good job. Screen shots, which usually make a computer book looks thick, were inserted at the right spots. For a Microsoft Press book, it should earn a proof-reading commendation for having less than 5 typos. The companion CD provides you with a sample data warehouse (DW) used throughout the book.
The lack of detailed discussion on building a DW, coupled with the omission of data mining topic create a sense of unfulfilling for a reader in search of a business intelligence solution. But then again, this is just a step-by-step book.
