Step by Step - Office Word 2007,
By Hidden Dragon (China) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Microsoft Office Word 2007 Step by Step (Paperback)
This book is another in a series of books by excellent authors contracted to write for Microsoft. It is a good example of technical writing that could be used as a demonstration at any college of technical communication. Its useability rating is at a high level, in my opinion. The only, important drawback, is the hidden fact that it is designed for use with the new Vista operating system. Yes, there is a note in the introduction that warns XP users that; 'Most of the differences . . . center around appearance rather than functionality.' But this means, generally, that for XP users, it is a book without many illustrations . . . which caused the loss of two stars.

Comprehensive Review,
This review is from: Microsoft Office Word 2007 Step by Step (Paperback)
We use so many computer programs but we hardly use all of their features. I taught myself how to use Word when I made a computer change many years ago but I have probably only used 10% of all the wonderful features, such as tables, theme colors, linking with Excel etc. that Word has to offer. "Step By Step" offered a good comprehensive view of the features as well as some practice files to help one to remember how to use these features. I am helping a volunteer organization with scheduling. Now I feel confident that I can produce a dynamic and impressive schedule for the club.
