I didnt exactly love this book ... but you dont really have much of a choice when it comes to exam manuals ... Microsoft Learning books are much better but at the same time they don't cover everything you need for the exam in as straight forward a way as this book does.
If you just want to learn ASP.NET and dont actually intend to take the 70-515 exam ... this is still as good a book as you will find ... but the exercises do very little to actually TEACH you how to do things ... the demo disk inside is a requisite to understand the exercises more often then not.
As someone who was pretty green to programming (having just learned C# for three weeks prior to this in school) i found the exercises where not explained in a good way for me. But when you have no choice in books ... i guess you deal with what you got.

This is what a Training Kit should look like. Great chapters, excellent overview of subjects, wonderful labs and awesome practice tests. You can't really ask for more for the price.

Great book, but sadly it does not prepares you for the certification. Or at most it prepares you for 50% of the certification, for the rest, you must already be an experienced web programmer, and you probably need a Javascript/HTML book to complete your study.

To prepare for the 70-515 exam, I used this book as my primary study material (with the included practice questions) and was very surprised in the actual exam to find out that it was not close to the actual experience. For my second attempt at the exam, I purchased the Transcender practice test and was much better prepared, scoring quite well.

This book is a decent reference for the many technologies you will need to know, but using only it, you will NOT pass the exam. Get a paid-for practice exam.

This book is well written and easy to read. You get many examples and exercises in every chapters. Recommended for anyone who wants to pass the 70-515 exam.
