I have been type I for 23 years and gone through pretty much every book, course and lecture from the many "expert diabetes educators" out there and nothing, absolutely nothing has proved as useful as this book. My son is now in his second year with type I and this book has been a life-saver. Not too technical, limited math needed but every major aspect of diabetes management is covered. Add a book on carb counting and you're set.

This is a well put together book about using insulin in diabetes. It is clear and covers so many things that influence blood glucose levels in diabetics. It is readable and straight forward. This book empowers the diabetic to take control of their disease and conquer it.

The one complaint I do have is the units...when will the United States join the rest of the word and use standardized units, it would make life so much simpler.
