This book is about the West's War on Terror and its failings. I don't agree with all the author's opinions and what he says, but it is well-researched and he does have the credentials (meeting bin Laden, traveling around the Middle East, etc.) to say what he says. I'd say a con on the book is that it at times drags on needlessly and is very boring at times, especially when discussing the American debates about Iraq. I'd recommend to read Steve Coll's Ghost Wars before reading this one.
