5.0 out of 5 stars Your own personal guide to how to break cyclic existence, Aug 31 2007

I have read the book once and it has altered my thinking. Now I'm reading it again, and am looking forward to a deeper level of understanding of my existence. If you haven't had luck with seeking guidance or cannot afford to see someone to help you through your problems, this book may just be the thing you've been looking for. It is simple, to the point and reveals things we often forget. In it are parts for reflection and mini mediation moments. Wishing you inner peace.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it, April 12 2008
This review is from: How to See Yourself as You Really Are (Paperback)
A great little book that is easy to read, and thought provoking. With guided meditations, this is a great introductory book to Buddhism that I would highly recommend for teenagers/young people that might not have read much on this fascinating philosophical religion, but are interested. I plan to pass it on to my 22 year old daughter when I visit her next month. She has talked to me about the Dalai Lama in the past and was fortunate to have seen him when he made a visit to her home town a few years ago. She was awe inspired by him. This book will benefit everyone. It could also be read as a light refresher or used as a carry along in your travels because of the way the meditations are laid out, you can flip to anyone in the book and use it as an instant guide. It is not overwhelming and makes you feel "oh so good". Peace and love to all who read this.

This book is awesome! If your're all about change, and being a better person, you have to read this book. It really helped me see life in a new and different way. This book has really changed my life perspective and made me a better person. In life isn't that what we all want, to be a better person and to find happiness?

The thing with this book that you will notice immediately by the titles of the chapters, is that it builds from a base of understanding to wonderful insights that are tools for you to manage walking the middle path and not straying (or getting caught in traps). One of his better books for just understanding.

The concepts are somewhat difficult, like not knowing is knowing etc., but overall, if you don't get stuck in spots like that where you can not comprehend and keep pushing forward, you will get this gist of the book. Probably best to read twice, so you can understand the concepts from a learned point of view.
