I didn't really enjoy this book. First, there were ... errors in it. Michael did not heal Liz. Anyone writing a book about Roswell should know that. Also, I didn't like the interaction between Liz and Tess. Yes, I am not a Tess fan, but I didn't like how she walked on Liz at all. It wasn't how it happened in the show, and that really bothered me. As for storyline, the book was pretty good. If you've never seen the show, you will probably like it. If you're a die hard fan of the show, and little mistakes drive you insane, or if you aren't a big fan of Tess, this probably isn't the book for you.

I really like it when authors who write novelizations related to TV shows decide to base their story on possible consequences of actions taken by the characters in the show. This book does that, playing on the idea of unintended effects resulting from Max's decision to heal the children in the hospital in the episode "Roswell Christmas Carol". Now, a Father wants his daughter healed, too, and kidnaps Michael because he thinks the young man holds the answer. At the same time, criminals are using Max's unexplained good dead to make money off of unsuspecting victims by selling them a cure that they say was used on the kids Max healed. The group goes looking for Michael when he turns up missing, while at the same time dogding a reporter who suspects Max had something to do with the so called "Christmas Miracle". All in all, the story was a good one, but did kind of drag at times. Also, the author really spent too much time exploring the thoughts of the reporter and the criminals hiding out and selling their elixer over the internet. Ultimately, the Roswell fan reading this book probably doesn't care what the one criminal thinks about the other criminal he's working with, or how he doesn't like the way he is talked to sometimes by his partner. It was still a well constructed story with a great premise working behind it.

I really liked No Good Deed. It kept my interest throughout the whole book! I thought the writing was good and the plot was even better. The one thing that bothered me was that they kept mentioning Michael's parents. Michael, as many Roswell fans know, was an orphan and never had parents. Maybe in the book Michael did have parents though. I'm not sure. Other than that the book was wonderful! I would definately recommend it to anyone who is thinking of reading it!

As a huge fan of Roswell and especially the character of Michael Guerin, I was really impressed with this book. It gave me a glimpse of another side of Michael. The side that so desperately wants to be like Max. To be able to heal instead of hurt. I also like the fact that books are somewhat in connection with the T.V. story lines. I have read the first in the series and plan on read the third. I recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the show or is interested in it.

On Christmas Eve Max and Michael snuck into a childrens ward in Arizona to heal the children there for Christmas. It was an act that will come back to haunt them. A desperate father remembers Michael from that night, and he has plans for him. Chad Newcomb's little daughter missed out on the "Christmas Miracle", and he plans on making sure that Katie will be saved by one of the angels. As the rest of the gang try and save him, they find themselves dealing with an annoying reporter who keeps getting in the way. A medical scam keeps everyone guessing.Based on the television series, this novel follows "Loose Ends". I really enjoyed this novel, finding it well written, and the switching viewpoints made the book more interesting. Unlike "Loose Ends" this novel shows a more faithful following of the characters that were developed for television from the books written by Metz. It is nice to see too that Michael has become something of a main character rather than having yet another book from the perspective of Max and Liz. This book gets a huge thumbs up both for the quality of the writing, and a great storyline.

I liked this book... I thought the authors really understood the characters and displayed them well... This story picked up from the Christmas episode where Maxwell heals all but one little girl.... Although you don't need to see that television episode this book speaks well for itself.. It was an exciting adventure that included alien teenagers on a quest to protect their identity while they had to go incognito as normal human teens in a society that would see them as a threat if their true identity was ever revealed... A well written story that shows that human and alien spirit are more alike than anyone would dare think..

A 'Roswell' book that feels like it's from Roswell.,

Dean Wesley Smith and Kristine Kathryn Rusch have always excelled at writing books based on an exisiting television series, and making it seem like the real deal. Their characterization and plot creation have always been in sync. with the universe that the fans know and love, and their foray into the world of "Roswell", 'No Good Deed', is no exception. The book carries on the action from the second season epsiode 'A Roswell Christmas Carol', and so it is helpful to your understanding of the book as a whole if you have seen this episode and others in the season. But Smith and Rusch do such a wonderful job of describing past events (without sounding patronizing) that it is possible to read the novel as a stand-alone book. Unlike the first book in this new "Roswell" series, all the characters are utilized well, and the scenarios fit into the lexicon of the "Roswell" we all know and love. If you are a die-hard "Roswellian", then this book is for you. But even if you're just an occasional alien lover, but you enjoy a wonderful, heart-wrenching story and writing that makes you feel as if you are a part of the action, then 'No Good Deed' is for you. I highly recommend it.

This book was really bad. Way too.. er... down to Earth to be a Roswell book. Yes there are scams out there like the one in the book but come on! What are the chances that the gang would get caught up in one and use such menial and mundane methods of solving. This would work for a show like Dawson's Creek or something that isn't science fiction. Where was the excitement! At least "Loose Ends" was at least RELATED to the television show and it was INTERESTING unlike this book. All the other Roswell books have extraterrestrial action. This book was BORING!

I loved how this book carried on from the episode (especially since we only had this episode this week in Australia). It really easy to visualise what is happening. I can't wait for the next book

If you are a fan of Roswell then this is a book to read. I've read the 1st book "Loose Ends" by Greg Cox and didn't like it that much because it didn't follow true to character. You could tell that the author never watched Roswell. But this book "No Good Deed" was awesome. It followed along with the show. I couldn't put it down. =)The authors Smith and Rusch knew what they were talking about and inculded everybody from the show, and I hope they continue to write more for this series.
