Lori Foster's characterizations=too shallow for me,
By A Customer
This review is from: I Love Bad Boys (Paperback)
This anthology definitely had some entertaining/sexy moments. My least favorite story was the first one "Indulge Me" by Lori Foster. The only character who wasn't painfully one-dimensional was Becky. I'd say she had about one and a half dimensions. The portrayal of Becky's supposedly closest friends was ridiculous. Asia and Erica existed as nothing more than cardboard cut-outs who walked on stage for some bad oneliners, and then walked off (literally still giggling at their un-witty repartee). Also, Erica continues flirting and making blatant sexual innuendos with the man Becky's building a relationship with--even after she sees how upset it's making Becky. Hello??! What kind of "best friend" is this? Yet as the reader, it's clear (because Foster beats us over the head with it relentlessly) that we're supposed to regard Erica as the tough-as-nails sassy modern woman. No, I call her a pathetically selfish, hurtful person. And I'm afraid no amount of un-funny oneliners can save her. But with the exception of Lori Foster's irritating and shallow tale, the other stories in this anthology did succeed as sexy, escapist fun.

Liked first and last,

All three stories were steamy. The first and third had something of a storyline and a sense of humor.IMHO Janelle Denison should stick with historical romances- the male character actually uses the word 'vixen'.

Too much sex, too little story,
By A Customer
This review is from: I Love Bad Boys (Paperback)
Like a couple of others who reviewed this book, I thought there was too much sex and too little story. The Lori Foster one was by far the best, and the one by Janelle Denison should have just been submitted to Penthouse Forum. This would have been a better trilogy if it had just been the three books from Foster's story of three friends who have a dare going about the sex shop across from their office.

When Bad is so Good,
By
This review is from: I Love Bad Boys (Paperback)
A collection of 3 novellas of erotic romance. There is a highish price tag on this trilogy, but it is definitely worth it if 'hot' is your bag, as these steamy stories are great representatives of their type.'Indulge Me' is the second story of three that Foster is telling about 3 friends who make a bet to visit a newly opened porn shop in their squeaky clean middle America town. Becky Harte's is the middle story (it doesn't take any psychic talent to forsee that the 3 stories will probably be amalgamated into one volume and reprinted by the publisher at a later date - like 'The Winston Brothers'). Becky is quiet, shy and hiding something. She needs to find someone who is into bondage in order to release her inhibitions and let herself go wild. George Westin has fancied Becky the entire time they'd been working for the same company, but was convinced Becky did not reciprocate his interest. When he found out from a friend what Becky was planning, George resolved to become her partner. Only he thought that she would be the one tied up... but that was not Becky's plan at all. 'Naughty by Night' tells the story of Chloe Anderson and Gabe Mackenzie, ex friends and almost lovers. The trust between them was shattered six years ago when Gabe appeared to lead Chloe along and then dump her, then heading out of town to Chicago, where he has since made a name for himself as a sports agent. They still know each other through Chloe's brothers, but are no longer truly friends and see each other very infrequently. He's in town again, at the poker game that Chloe and her brothers play weekly. And something seems to have changed - the sexually charged atmosphere always simmering between them has jumped up a notch or twelve. Ultimately more than money is bet, and now Gabe is hers for 3 hot dates. Dates that Chloe means to bring things to a boil and sear Gabe from her system once and for all. You know what they say about the best laid plans... 'And When They Were Bad' is about Cameron James IV, who has had a very bad year. He's now vacationing at Intimacies, a chance to lose the 'good boy' that he's been all his life and find his wild side at this private club where anything goes. Allison Walker is hardly the woman of his fantasies - a bit clumsy, always getting herself into deep water, and physically not his type. And yet he can't seem to stop himself from helping her out, can't seem to avoid running into her, and can't seem to get her out of his mind, until the situation presents itself when he can act on his surprising attraction. I liked all 3 stories, although the first and last were my favourites because they featured shy or insecure women who came into their own. And as for heat - phew!

Lori Foster was hot as always...,

I gave this book 3 stars because, Lori Foster's story was the best of the three. Donna Kauffman's story was so-so, but Janelle's was just plain awful in my opinion.

INDULGE ME by Lori Foster. This is the second of related stories about three friends that have made a pact involving a visit to"Wild Honey" a new sex shop in a small and conservative town. Now, is the turn of Becky Harte. She is very shy and inexperienced. When she is at the shop she mets George Westin, who is a supervisor at the factory where she works and is the man of her dreams. George is a very atractive and experienced man and is atracted to Becky, but she has kept him at a distance, hiding her own atraction to him. Now, Becky and George are going to live their fantasies and they are going to have a well deserved happy ever after. This story involves a little bondage, and it is done with very good taste and with a funny twist. My only complain is that the story ended too soon. NAUGHTY BY NIGHT by Janelle Denison. Gabe McKenzie had walked away from Chloe Anderson six years before, believing ...AND WHEN THEY WERE BAD by Donna Kauffman. Cameron James IV has spent his entire life being Mr. Nice Guy, now Unlike in most anthologies, here all the three stories are excellent. I highly recommend it!

Three great stories in one book,
By A Customer
This review is from: I Love Bad Boys (Paperback)
I Love Bad Boys is a collection of three hot, fun-to-read stories. Lori Foster's contribution, Indulge Me, is the second installment in her trilogy of novellas about 3 friends, the new sex shop in town, a pact - and a steamy romance for each. Indulge Me is Becky and George's story, a fun and sexy tale about shy Becky's fantasies, and how George fullfills them. (Don't miss Lori Foster's stories about Becky's friends! You can find Asia and Cameron's story in Satisfy Me, Lori Foster's contribution to the anthology All Through the Night. Erica has her turn in Drive Me Wild, in the I Brake for Bad Boys anthology.) In "Naughty by Night," Janelle Denison tells the story of former football player Gabe and Chloe, the woman he's wanted for years. When he blew out his knee - and with it, his chances of an NFL career - giving her up seemed like the honorable thing to do. Now, he's back. Can Chloe forgive him? "When They Were Bad" by Donna Kauffman is the story of Cameron and Allison, two people who temporarily leave their "real" lives behind, in hopes of finding their wild sides at an intimate resort in the Caribbean. You'll want to read more by all three of these authors!

Sometimes being badder is better,
By Desmond Chan (Bishan North Singapore) - See all my reviews
This review is from: I Love Bad Boys (Paperback)
Three's a crowd - but the triumvirate of erotic romance author can hardly do any wrong here except being at their most irreverent and indulgent to translate their inner fantasies to sizzling stories. Lori Foster spearheads with INDULGE ME picking up the story on innocent Becky Harte fulfilling a dare to venture into the scandalous porn shop in local Indiana. Mortification grips her when she meets her gorgeous supervisor George Westin - and erroneously thought her to develop a fetish for bondage. It is such riotous fun when the devilish George gets more than he bargains for and tender passion when Becky reveals her insecurities with the flaws on her body. Seasoned Harlequin writer Janelle Denison raises temperature with Naughty By Night - a simple tale about Gabe Mackenzie reclaiming his lost love through a poker card game that grants Chloe four nights of enslaved passion. Ms. Denison's idea of an erotic night is sparkingly romantic and original - and proves even watching a date movie with a loved one can be evocative in communication. Even Donna Kauffman cannot resist to stage a full-blown sexual escapade with distressed magnate Cameron James VI coming to a private resort dedicated to sensual pleasures and finds love in a remote island. The passionate play at the waterfall is sensuous and mystic; Ally and Cameron are two kindred spirits with heart and soul. I Love Bad Boys teases the senses with its risque theme on dangerous and virile men in their quest for love. It is wild, lush and deliciously sexy. Serves to remind us that sometimes being badder can be better.

If you like it HOT - buy this book!,

This review is from: I Love Bad Boys (Paperback)
I just started reading this type of book and believe me it's not the typical romance novel. It's so much more erotic and sensual. The male characters are passionate, sensitive, and very bad boys! I loved each and every page! Lori Foster is a wonderful writer - this was the first book of her's that I have read and I must say I love her writing! I picked up the first story about Asia, Satisfy Me - which was wonderful as well. I can't wait to see what Erica's story is about!
