I am a beginner sewer and I bought this book as well as Sew Fast Sew Easy. Both were around the same price, but the Sew Everything Workshop contains a lot more stuff. I was surprised how thick the book was and it's all in colour. It's got practical advice, and lots of sewing patterns. (Sew Fast Sew Easy only had 3). It's spiral bound so it's easy to keep a page open for reference. I highly recommend this to any beginner.

I am really enjoying this book. As a beginner sewer I find the tone of the book friendly, encouraging and easy to read. The instructions, tips and recommendations are right in line with information I've been given through several sewing workshops I've taken. It puts all the tidbits of advice given from the various instructors (that I had forgotten) in one handy place. Unlike other beginner books, there are several projects that I am actually interested in completing. I highly recommend this book.

This is by far the best introductory book for beginners.
If you need to learn everything from scratch, this is the first book you should try.
It comes with several easy and functional patterns. The spiral spine is great to keep it flat open while you work. There is plenty of pictures and the book design is very appealing, making it a fast and easy read, despite the large amount of information and projects.
I've read several books for beginners and this is the best of all.
