This review is from: Wilderness First Responder, 2nd: How to Recognize, Treat, and Prevent Emergencies in the Backcountry (Paperback)
The second edition of Buck Tilton's Wilderness First Responder has occupied a position of honour on my bookshelf. Written by one of the more experienced wilderness medical practitioners, it follows a logical progression of chapters and will add valuable tools to your outdoor arsenal. I would have rated the book with five stars, but it has the older CPR protocols in it, and recommends the Sawyer extractor (the jury is out on this item right now, the latest WMS leaning is toward not using one). The soon to be released third edition will have the all new protocols and will make this great book even greater.

It might be a good idea to purchase a few copies, as they tend to be borrowed often around here.
