5.0 out of 5 stars Wow, Mar 7 2002

When I first received my copy of this book, I let it sit for a few days. I was aware that it was the final volume of the Firebird trilogy, and I wanted to savor it for awhile. Then I began to take peeks at the book, and before I realized it I had read the entire thing. All I can say is, "Wow!"

This was definitely one of the best books I've read in a long time. I love the characters of both Firebird and Brennen. They are utterly human, with human strengths and failings. I don't like books with one-dimensional characters who can do either no right or no wrong. Firebird and Brennen make their share of mistakes, but ultimately become stronger for them.

Although I know it's not likely to happen, I would love to see more stories in this universe!

5.0 out of 5 stars Why isn't this required reading at school??, May 11 2001

I have to say, this is proof yet again that Kathy Tyers has a way with novels. I liked Firebird better, but I suppose there's only one number one! :)

This conclusion to the Firebird trilogy is a perfect ending. It's gripping and will have you begging for more, but so far I don't think there's going to be another book in the series.

The plot has twists and turns that aren't to be suspected and suspenseful points that kept me glue to the pages. Then the bigger surprise- it's a Christian book? Yes, Kathy manages to tie the Ehretan religion (much like pre-Messianic Christianity) into the already intriguing novel.

From everyone who I've talked to so far about this book, they all adored it! I'm just a higschool student, but I've met people from all age groups who have enjoyed this refreshing book and the other two in Kathy's Firebird series. I definitly suggest you read it! This is the type of novel that should be required reading for school! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Another good one by Kathy Tyers, Feb 11 2001

I thought that Crown of Fire was an excellent conclusion to the Firebird trilogy. Firebird's struggle with pride was very well written. Several parts in the book were so intense that I had to read on to find out what was going to happen. The suprise ending made a fitting touch to these wonderful books.

Okay, I probably shouldn't be writing this review yet because I have not finished the book, but so far I have not been able to set this book down! Its just awesome! Just like the first 2 novels in this trilogy! I sincerely hope that Kathy Tyers keeps writing Christian Science Fiction because she does a fantastic job! The Firebird trilogy is not just the best Christian science fiction I have ever read, but the best Science Fiction and maybe the best novels I have ever read.
