5.0 out of 5 stars Legendary
This book distills Burns' best work from Feeling Good, updating it and repackaging it to make it accessible to anyone, and above all - doable. There are templates of all the worksheets he suggests, a "wheel of recovery" to guide you to appropriate exercises, and genuinely helpful techniques suggested throughout. You can tailor it to fit your own circumstances. There are...

3.0 out of 5 stars Panic no more
This book helped me a lot to question and to change my thought patterns. Once you question the intensity of the emotion involved in a situation and how it does NOT match the actual situation then you have to go back to determine where the emotion is coming from and resolve that issue. Takes a lot of the guess work out of the future.

There are templates of all the worksheets he suggests, a "wheel of recovery" to guide you to appropriate exercises, and genuinely helpful techniques suggested throughout. You can tailor it to fit your own circumstances. There are tons of self-help books out there, but this is one of the few that can actually change your thinking, and by consequence your life. It certainly has for me! It's only a fraction of what you'd pay for a single therapy session, and worth much more. One of, if not THE best.

1.0 out of 5 stars not for panic or agoraphobics, July 28 2007
This review is from: When Panic Attacks: The New, Drug-Free Anxiety Therapy That Can Change Your Life (Paperback)
nothing new here and much more general than the title implies
i was quite disappointed as it was much to long and tried to cover to many subjects instead of one, panic
i was looking for something new on panic disorder and didn't find it
the author did seem to enjoy the telling of his stories to much
it was like listening to someone drone on endlessly about nothing tangable
seems like he was just adding to his bank account
i cannot recomend this book as it doesn't even repay the time spent reading it never mind the cost
