"The High Road" continues the exploits of Angus McClintock from "The Best Laid Plans". If you liked "The Best Laid Plans", you'll LOVE "The High Road." If you like politics, you'll love "The High Road." If you HATE politics, you'll love "The High Road." The characters are likeable, the writing is polished and laugh out loud funny. It's too bad Angus can't run for office. We could use a politician like Angus.

This book, the second of two, dealing with the duplicity and down-and-dirty stuff that happens in Ottawa is hilarious - an invigorating read!!!

This was a great book. It was funny, clever, and I loved all the Canadian content. The scenes of Ottawa and the Canadian parliament were hilarious and, unfortunately, very realistic.

After "The Best Laid Plans", the saga continues here but you can see how originality gets stretched with a crazy FLOTUS among other plot stretches. It is however, still funny... it's just important to accept the premise of the book. The part that makes me sad though is how broken the political system really is and Fallis really exposes that with humour. It's difficult to ever imagine that an Agus could ever really exist in our broken political system but this book gives me hope. The corrupt, sinister, and self-serving nature of our political system is so brilliantly captured by Fallis that I highly doubt the unlikely turn of events in THR could ever really happen and change the sad sate that Canadians are in. As a proud Canadian, the book leaves me laughing and longing....

Both of Mr. Fallis's books are amazing. Loved them and have recommended them to many friends and book clubs. Everyone we talk to have thoroughly enjoyed both books. A "must" read. Waiting for a THIRD!!! My two favourite books of the year.
