I love the natural way all aspects of family and marriage come to life in Virgin River. Carr brings the beauty of birth to life just as vividly as she does the sting of betrayal and the beauty of the area.

Carr has created quite the cast of characters for this novel. The conniving, backstabbing nature of some is tempered by the utter loyalty in others. At the same time, everyone seemed so real. Carr never goes off the deep end with extreme characters, they’re all so real. The entire community comes to life as Carr delves into the lives of so many individuals. I thoroughly enjoy how the main characters stand out, yet how everyone’s story is told. The intertwining storylines made the tale even more intriguing for me.

This is one of those rare novels that will stand the test of time. Carr brings life and love to the forefront in such a manner that you cannot ignore it, but one that’s also completely natural.

Robyn Carr is a master at character development. Her stories are well thought-out and detailed to a point where you can imagine yourself living with these characters.
I loved the plot of this story. Paul and Vanni were extremely down to earth and thanks to Ms. Carr's attention to detail and her realistic portrayals of fictional people, I could easily sympathize with their plights and their emotional reactions.

The reason I only give 3 stars is because the book is just too long. Many pages are spent describing irrelevant things that really don't matter to the story. For example there were several pages dedicated to Vanni's family history, as well as entire chunks of the book focusing on secondary characters. I realize that some of these other characters were main focuses previously in the series (or will be later on). But it was annoying that Paul & Vanni's story kept being put on "pause" for other characters. The blurb on the back of the book is a bit misleading because the story really isn't really just focused on Paul & Vanni. It contains several (long) updates to past main characters from the previous books in the series. I have also read "Shelter Mountain" and found this to be the case with that book as well. I'm guessing this is a regular occurrence in all the Virgin River books...

It's a good read if you don't mind the several distractions to the central plot.

Whoo would not like a second chance to correct a wrong or try again in a Relationship. Reading this book is like being invited to redo what one would like to do. Enjoy! A must read!

purchased to complete the Virgin River Series. I had read it before but just read the whole series again and loved reading about my "friends" and all about Virgin River.

I've bought all of Mrs Carr's books and I was never deceived by anyone of them.
The stories are always very good and hope Mrs Carr will publish some new ones soon.
