Fantastic!,

Many times I've bought cookbooks thinking that I would make a lot of dishes out of it, but have actually used only one or two recipes before donating the book to charity. The Complete Whole Grains Cookbook is not like that.In fact, since purchasing my own copy I have bought three more to give to family and friends for their cookbook collections. At the beginning of the book the author gives a very detailed overview of all the grains she uses, as well as how to cook and store them, and their nutritional values. Each recipe has nutritional values listed as well, and in some cases, instructions on how to cook the dish using a slow cooker. There are recipes for all meals (not just breakfast)and the collection include delicious ways to cook, chicken, beef, pork, and vegetarian dishes. Although some of the ingredients may be unusual according to North American tastes, they are not obscure or difficult to find - and she does suggest viable substitutions in some cases. All in all, I highly recommend it.

I always looked at those "different" grains at the health/organic store, but never bought them because I wouldn't know how to prepare a good and delicious meal with them. Since I found this book, I'm no longer afraid of being adventurous because the recipes are amazing -- especially the barley salad!. What's better, they are extremely nutritious. I've been telling all my friends about it.

I love this book. I'm new to cooking with grains other than rice and this has been a great introduction for me. Easy to read recipes with clear instructions, using easy to find ingredients. I've tried a good selection of recipes now and all have been very successful and yummy and on top of that, they also feel healthy which to me, feels great and makes me want to try more! I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone looking to ease in gently to healthier eating habits.
