5.0 out of 5 stars Good Read
I like the way the book starts out with the prologue back in time. Then Serena runs into a homeless old lady (she thinks) and the book takes off from there. Serena is one of my favorite characters because she plays the cello and also has a pet raccoon. I like her power but Catty still wins. Still I wish I could read minds.

The Stanton/Serena angst I can't take it anymore!

This book's plot idea in general-good.

The way it was carries out-*cringe*.

Romantic angst is fine is small doses, but two whole books about it in the same series about the same couple is WAY too much. The plot seemed to serve one purpose make Serena even more confused about her feeling about Stanton and bring her...

The Stanton/Serena angst I can't take it anymore!

This book's plot idea in general-good.

The way it was carries out-*cringe*.

Romantic angst is fine is small doses, but two whole books about it in the same series about the same couple is WAY too much. The plot seemed to serve one purpose make Serena even more confused about her feeling about Stanton and bring her closer to her dark side. There was no other purpose. the plot wasn't even what held the book together. It was the romantic angst between Stanton and Serena.

I like Stanton, but if I have to read another book like this I may just give up and start banging my head against the wall and give up. Basically Serena and Stanton's love life is like a bad version of Romeo and Juliet-if you want feuds watch "West Side Story" it's about three thousand times better.

Another problem was everything was so freakin' obvious when it came to the plot-ever heard of subtly. All the other Daughters' relationships are second to the plot and that's how it's suppose to be unless you're writing a romance novel then it IS the plot. But this is a grievance.

We already had a book dealing with romantic angst between the two: It was "The Sacrifice" remember and it was better! Much better!

But reading this book was a bit like plucking out my arm hairs one by one. I actually paid attention in math class (not that it helped) instead of reading this book which was a first.

Here is my thoughts on the series so far: the second rotation through the DoTM was no where near as good as the first. I hope if we go through a third that it's better.

5.0 out of 5 stars Possession, April 26 2004

This review is from: Daughters of the Moon: Possession - Book #8 (Hardcover)
I think this book is the best one so far.. All of the other books i have read of Daughters of the moon haven't been like this one since the book The Sacrifice. I think in this book you get to understand Serena more.. What happens in this book is this.. Serena runs into this old lady runs into her and she makes her drink something...She wakes up and it is night time.. She keeps on passing out should I say. This car keeps on following her... She is just getting freaked out.. Jimena comes over so she makes sure she doesn't do anything.. Serena has a dream and well she thinks it is so not really and well she thinks that if she hurts her self that she will wake up. she wakes up and she know now that it was really.. So they go see Stanton and Serena freaks out on him so she says that when they see each other they will be enemies.... Oh and Jimena has been working on her power and so she can get a vision any time and she sees Serena and Stanton fighter together to fight off bad followers and another one that you will find out.. Oh and you know how they have two choices now Serena has three and they are...1 to lose her powers and her memory of what she once been. 2 disappear and become something else like a guardian spirit perhaps.. But now, unlike the other Daughters Serene had a third choice. She could become a goddess of the dark and be happy and be with Stanton... what will she chose. What will happen. DUDE READ IT

This review is from: Daughters of the Moon: Possession - Book #8 (Hardcover)
This book was one of the greatest I have ever read. I love how it combines a whole mish- mash of different genres. I wish Stanton was a real person so I could marry him! :) (sigh...) Oh well. Ilove this series and highly recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Too Cliche, Aug 16 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Daughters of the Moon: Possession - Book #8 (Hardcover)
I use to love this series but now that i have read almost every book except #6&9 I realize that the way this book is written has too many cliches. I'm not saying that I write better, I can't even finish a book! I have stopped buying the whole series. What's up with Jimena? Does this writer really know what being a homegirl is like? And what's up with punk and girliness and the same time... I know many DOTM lovers will hate me for writing this... but it's true... I'm sorry... I know I'm not the only that thinks this. I'm not saying it's bad.. it's pretty well written... but the cliches are way too much.

This is one of her best books. She keeps you on your toes and you can't stop reading it. I have read all of her books and I am rereading them just the same. Read it once and then read it again and it is like it is the fist time all over again. I would recommend this book to any one who loves to read or to anyone whow wants to start to read this is a great book for any level and mind.
