Kaz the Minotaur picks up where The Legend of Huma ends with Kaz as the main character. The great minotaur has supposedly been betrayed by the knighthood he has grown to respect. There is a price on his head, and he doesn't know why. In addition he is being pursued by a group of minotaurs for a dishonorable crime that he supposedly committed during the war. Being chased by many and wondering why, Kaz does the honorable thing and goes to the knighthood and makes a horrifying discovery. The minotaur finds himself thrust into feelings of dejavu and discovers a sinister plot that threatens to unravel everything that Huma strove to build. The plot is rich with great characters that become important to the reader, and the story is exciting with a superbly twisting and changing plot. Kaz must rise above the persecution and once again embrace the ideals that Huma taught him, and in doing so he becomes more than he ever imagined he could. While not quite to the level of The Legend of Huma, this book a truly a great read and offers the reader a wonderful opportunity to experience a finely crafted fantasy tale.

First, I have to say that I don't normally read a lot of sci-fi fantasy but I have to say that Kaz is a great book. Descriptions of the characters are written so well that I was able to visualize this strange world of minotaurs! I would recommend this book. I also think that kids in middle school and high school would enjoy the characters and the story.

I was more than impressed by this book! I have read lots of the "DL" saga, and this is by far one of the best.
In this epic, Kaz is traveling throughout krynn coping with the lost of his one human friend, Huma.

Being persued by other Minotaurs and a Ogre for "Crimes of no-honor", and now being accompanied by a kender, his journies are anything but usual.

This book is a must read for any "DL" fan, or even someone totally new to it! You need to read "The legend of huma" before this though, otherwise it is a bit confusing at times. This is a must must must read! -10 Stars

This book was interesting in the fact that a lot of times it would near predictability adn then when you expected something to happen it wouldn't. It was almost as if the authors grand scheme was to keep you guessing. I enjoyed the character of the book because he was a minotaur with depth, something I imagine is somewhat of an oxy moron. He has interesting struggles that unlike some books never quite get tedious. I would reccomend this book to anyone because no previous knowledge of Dragonlance is essential but i do think that reading the legend of Huma ahead of time would help quite a lot. A great book with fascinating character.

Kaz, the Minotaur by Richard Knaak is a worthy sequal to the smash 'The legend of Huma'. Richard has a writing style that is fun and interesting to read, and he rates close to Wies and Hickman themselves with his talent. This book is no exception. It is filled with a wonderful storyline that sweeps you away into Kaz's world in the years following the first Dragonwar. Huma is now 5 years dead, and Kaz still feels that he could have done something to help the Knight to destroy Takhisis. For a Minotaur, he has a strong sense of loyalty and is steadfast in his beliefs. This book starts with Kaz running from another band of Minotaurs who are intent on taking him back to their homeland where Kaz is charged with being dishonerable and treasonous. His kender companion, Delbin, keeps this story funny and exciting the whole way through. This book is an absolute must for any dragonlance fan. It sheds must needed light on Kaz, and the pains and struggles he goes through after the death of Huma Dragonbane. This book is definately worth the read. A must!

This book was written extremely well and was a great book to follow The Legend of Huma. The Delbin and Kaz relation adds a lot to this book. Kaz's enemies are interesting to read about as well. It also answered some of my questions that I had from The Land of Minotaurs; which were mainly questions about Scurn and his relationship with some of the other minotaurs. Richard Knaak is my favorite author in the DL series because he is the one that is always writing about my favorite race, the minotaurs. Weis and Hickman are his only equals in the DL series.

Like the title says, Kaz hacks up the ratings like he does his foes in this awesome novel about how he helps the Solomnic Knights get the ever returning Galan Dracos. I liked it the most because it is a sequel but at the same time, it's own story. If you haven't read this book then you really should, but you have to read the "Legend of Huma" first to fully understand this novel.

In short the author does a very good job with all the characters especially with the addition of Delbin who interacts very well with Kaz. Overall a worthy addition to the Dragonlance series.

Richard Knaak does a wonderful job in following up the "Legend of Huma," with "Kaz the Minotaur." An excellent book that starts where it's predecessor left off. Knaak again does an excellent job and keeping the pace up in this book, making it difficult for you to put the book down. The addition introduction of delbin was done excellently, providing a good deal of quality interaction between the two.

Knaak also does a good job in getting into the minds of Kaz's pursuers. The Author effectively gives the reader an insight of the conflict of feelings from within the group and a good deal of background information as well as they chase Kaz.

Another quality job by Richard Knaak, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I recommend this book to anybody who loves fantasy adventure. Although it's not necessary to read the "Legend of Huma" first, I do recommend it.

How can a fan of Dragonlance not like this one! It is action-packed and has a great turn of events to it. I COULDN'T PUT IT DOWN!
