5.0 out of 5 stars Always amazed
R.A. salvatore is an amazing writer. If u liked previous books in the Drizzt series then this book will not disappoint you. R.A. Salvatore's writing takes your imagination to a whole new level and keeps u on the edge of your seat so even though it's 3:00 in the morning u can't help but keep reading just a little longer. Amazing series!!

2.0 out of 5 stars Anticipating some anticipation...
I was so much looking forward to this book, ultimately, however, I was disappointed. The book starts off with what turns out to be a bit of a surprise concerning a certain Dwarf...I was kinda taken back by that...but eventually came around, I think...
RAS wastes too many pages on uninteresting characters and too little, it seems, on the ones that have more appeal...

RAS wastes too many pages on uninteresting characters and too little, it seems, on the ones that have more appeal. The character developement in Book 2 of the Orc King was very intense, unfortunately, there is too little of that in book 3. There is some good reading, mostly in the last few chapters, maybe. The writing seems good, but this book ends up being a spring board into another series, not a Grand Finally by any means. RAS has done this before, ie: Book 3 of the IcewindDale trilogy. The best series is still the Dark Elf.
What happened RAS? Too long a holiday? Too short a deadline? Too bad...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book, Feb. 19 2006
This review is from: The Two Swords: The Hunters Blades Trilogy, Book III (Paperback)
Okay, the second one is definitely better but was satisfied with the way this one ended. Not great by any means, but most authors of late seem more worried about deadlines and churning the book mill than actually sitting down and creating a fluid, exciting piece of work
I would still recommend this book as this author writes well and the story is sound if lacking in places.
**A book I would also recommend is The Unsuspecting Mage by Brian S. Pratt. This, the first installment of The Morcyth Saga is a great beginning for a new author. Battles, magic, gods, secret passages and intrigue, all the elements of a classic epic fantasy! Any fantasy reader will enjoy it. Also it didn't take 4-6 weeks to come as I had been worried about. Only about fifteen days. Still a wait but worth it!
