I love this book! I borrowed several books from our public library on Dog Training after adding a new puppy to our household. I have always had dogs and don't consider myself as a 'beginner' dog owner. The information in Dr. Fogle's book is written in a clear, concise manner. Lots of pictures for reinforcment of instructions. Would be excellent for a first time dog owner! I read it cover to cover in one evening. That is something a busy mom of 4 can really appreciate! Some material I already knew, some I needed to be reminded of and some was completely new. I am going to purchase this book as a 'keeper'.

I purchased this book for my son (age 14) when he received a puppy for his birthday. It is fantastic. The steps of dog training are explained in a very simple manner with lots of pictures. Both he and I used the techniques described in the book to train the puppy (a Sheltie). Within a few weeks, the dog was able to sit, give us his paw and lie down on command. I am going to buy another copy of this book to give to my brother and his wife, who just purchased a puppy.

The Complete Dog Training Manual is great. Lots of pictures to show you exactly how to do things. No guessing at what the book is trying to put across. The training techniques work. Also, shows ways to handle problems.
