5.0 out of 5 stars Just...wow!
How the heck can they produce a book of this quality and sell it so cheap? I can tell you folks, I've paid a lot more for less before. If you're a Transformers fan of any generation, there's something inside here for everyone to love.

How the heck can they produce a book of this quality and sell it so cheap? I can tell you folks, I've paid a lot more for less before. If you're a Transformers fan of any generation, there's something inside here for everyone to love.

Coming inside a nice hard outer shell, the book slides out easily. Opening it up, it's just a beautiful book. Every page is illustrated in full colour. Peter Cullen (aka Optimus Prime, but you knew that already) does the intro. The book is divided into several chapters, including the toys, the various comics, the various TV shows, the movies, and so on. There are pictures of classic G1 toys as well as their original Takara counterparts. There are photos of prototype toys, including the 1986 version of Unicron that was never produced. What a toy that would have been. There are also Japanese exclusive toys, G2, Beast Wars, and onwards. While one could always wish for a "complete" gallery of every toy, that book would be thousands of pages. This sampling is still very satisfying.

Same with the comics, and TV shows -- there are pages of G1 and G2 comic covers, panels, and character models. The coverage goes right up to the present day, with pictures from a brand new animated series and of course Dark of the Moon.

Best of all are the handful of memorabilia pages. You will find a replica Transformers cataloge that you can flip through, a card of tech specs, and a tech spec decoder. I won't spoil all the surprises, but they are here for you to discover.

Great book. Enjoyable. I am going to have a blast going through this periodically. 5 stars!
