5.0 out of 5 stars First in a line of books...
The Unquiet Bones is Michigan teacher Melvin Starr's first-in-a-series novel set in 14th century England, in an area outside of Oxford. Starr wrote a wonderful story which seems to have been ghost-written by a true 14th century surgeon.

I'm looking forward to reading more of Starr's work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Addictive Series, Oct. 24 2014
Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This unassuming surgeon is an interesting and likeable character who becomes more appealing as he stumbles further into a career in solving puzzles related to crime. There is such a realistic sense of the era portrayed here that you will feel as though you are walking through a land struggling to recover from the devastations of the plague. A very enjoyable read - but as subsequent stories evolve Hugh grows and develops into a fully realized character - so beware - this book leads you into an addictive series and you will soon be hoping the author is writing more.
