5.0 out of 5 stars A Way of Life, May 16 2001
By
This review is from: The Zucchini Warriors (Paperback)
"A Bruno and Boots Book" is such a poor description of this series. These books ought to be shelved under "Philosophy of Life" because Gord comes through time after time with lessons and truisms, but most of all, the man gives you something to hold on to. So open up "Zucchini Warriors" (probably his best work, I've read it literally 72 times) and cling to every word he gives you...this book is hope.

Purchased for my grandson. We haven't read it yet. If it's anything like the rest of Gordon Korman's books it will be awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of my favorites from back in the day. . ., Mar 13 2001
This review is from: The Zucchini Warriors (Paperback)
This is a funny, funny book. Elmer Drimsdale as the B.M.C. still gives me fits of giggles if I let it. The Beast is sure to cause outright laughter, especially his timely return to action after his "compound fracture". All I am thinking about right now is the final play and Korman's line "The Beast hit him like Polaris missle" lol Oh man. . . *wipes tears from eyes* Oh man, I just remembered Sidney Rampulskey and his touch down slide. . . I still to this day use the line "Yeah, he could trip over a moonbeam." :) Or "I've never seen someone trip over the 50 yard line before." Anyways, if you ever read any Bruno & Boots books, this is definately my favorite, thought "The War With Mr. Wizzle" is close second, perhaps even equal. I think I am prejudiced because I played football in school. Parents, these are wonderful stores for children, if you don't know about Bruno & Boots get "This Can't Be Happening at Macdonald Hall" it's short and to the point. :) It might even get the kids reading, it did for me. This was read to my class, I forget which grade, but I have never forgotten the story. :)

This review is from: The Zucchini Warriors (Paperback)
This book was an excellent combination of suspense, sports, and a few very silly people. These factors entwined together by master author Gordon Korman create a master piece matchable only by the author himself.
