In this book, the Animorphs discover other Andalites on earth. One is a vecol (an Andalite with his/her tailblade cut off) and has been captured by the Yeerks. The other has a desiese, so Visser Three doesn't infest them, but he wants in return for returning the vecol, to give him one of the "Andalite Bandits" so he can make another Andalite-Controller. The Animorphs and the Andalite thats not captured go to try to rescue the vecol. Will the Animorphs suceed, or will they fail? Read the book to find out!

I have been reading the Animorphs series for about four years now, and the writing has started to get a bit boring and mundane (I think it's the ghostwriters). However, this book was, by far, like a red rose shining out of a winter garden. It has been a long time since I enjoyed a book like this one. I can agree with the fact that K.A. cannot let Mertil hanging. She added him to the books, and now the readers want to find out his fate. He, along with Arbron, Melissa Chapman, and Aftran, should play a larger part in the final battle. If any of the Animorphs books should be picked up and read again, this is definately one of them.

While Animorphs #40 did not make it point through action it was a very appealing book. A valuable lesson is taught in this book that other books has not had before, the value of friendship. It shows that no matter how diseased and disabled the person was, his friend loved him still even while he was despised by Andalite standards. In The Other, two Andalites are discovered from the Dome Ship crash, and they're waiting until help finally comes. They were sighted on TV and home video. Marco and the others need to uncover the mystery for it may all be a very cunnig trap to destroy the Animorphs. Is it really a trap, and if not, are these other Andalites going to side with the Animorphs ? Because the last alliance with Andalites failed. And if these Andalites are traitors as well, the Animorphs are doomed.

The book is really sad, I must admit. Here we have two surviving Andalites from the great Dome ship battle at the start of the series, and one is dying and the other is being held hostage by Visser Three. The two are very best friends, like Ax and Tobias are, but the problem is that they are trying to avoid the Animorphs' help and that only causes problems. But what I want to know is why Marco has to tell the story. This is a little too heavy for his type of character, and there is very little humor in it. But I guess it's because he has just come off from the re-marriage of his father that KA thinks this is okay. It's excusable, though, but a little unnatural.

I don't feel that this book is among the worst of Applegate because it has nothing to do with the main goal of the series, but because the story is really touching and a little depressing that you have to like it. But I agree that KA should not forget about Mertil, the Andalite who will be alone when his friend dies, because she is adding so many branches into the series now it's going to be pointless for even putting them there is she isn't going to bring them back up in the future. Other than that, this book is good.

kaa has written better animorphs but this was not that bad. there could have been a little more action and gafinilan probably would have acted a little more proud and arrogant if this was ever to happen. I would recommend buying this book even though it is not the best animorphs written. this is an excellent series to collect if you are in to sci-fi books. this book actually should be 3 1/2 stars.

K.A. Applegate has done a great job writing these books, but it's getting old. I like it when a series-style writer carries things over from her previous books, and she did that with the addition of Ax, the Hork-Bajir colony, the Helmacrons, and that David guy. I just wish she would have the Andalites FINALLY arrive. What is she waiting for?

Fespite what some people say, (that K.A. Should cut with the Animorphs) I am an eighth grader and have been with the amimorphs since they wher published 4 years ago. in this story, Marco and the animorphs Discover that Ax isn't the only andalite on the planet. There are Two more! one is disabled and one trying to hide his slowly deteriorating state. This book Gives us an insite on andalite society and bigotry, and is one of my favorites. Will theh animorphs be able to help these two fading heros? or will the two andalites to anything within their power to be left to themselves? Are these new andalites be willing to kill for their privacy....?

This book was a pretty good one. It had some interesting information in it. This one wasn't as intense as many other ones. But as a whole it is about time for this series to stop. It is getting old. These kids and Ax should have died so many times by now, even with the best of luck. I think K.A. has done a great job with this series but it is time for the Andalites to come or for them to slowly die off. Now it would be interesting if the Animorphs fought along with the Andalites for the fight to retake Earth, but that's just a suggestion.

This book was great and I all ways can't wait for the next one. I usually finish these books in an hour or less but still enjoy them. I think the Everworld series dosen't even compare to the Animorphs series. If you like animals then read these books I learned lot from them. I think animorphs are really good.

I'm an avid reader, and I've been hooked to Animorphs since third grade (I'm in 6th now). but lately, the series has become quite boring and mundane, and is getting like Goosebumps, which I loathe [just my opinion] Before we get Book #153, I'd prefer for Ms. Applgate to stop the series and make better books. The 'EverWorld' series is a good start.
