I was not very happy with this book.

I was very disappointed with the patterns herein. When they say "Classics", they're not kidding. These are older patterns from a different generation. They aren't patterns that I find attractive today - especially with all of the prettier patterns on the market. These ones are boring folks. Unless you wanna revisit the past, save your money.

I would highly recommend GARDEN OF AFGHANS and A YEAR OF AFGHANS BOOK 4. The patterns are prettier, there are more patterns to choose from in both of the above titles I've mentioned.

This particular book in question included everything from a granny bed jacket to afghans that aren't exactly fitting for today's decor. They've taken older patterns and updated yarns and color choices, but the patterns are still dated.

YAWN.

Great addition to my pattern stash. The patterns are lovely, and easy to read. The photos are beautiful and inspiring. I've alreay done several projects in the book. I think that I love the entire series of books that Leisure Arts has out.

I've been crocheting for years, and have gone through a lot of afghan starts and stops. This book has so many wonderful patterns in it that I've managed to finish two of them in a two month period. My only complaint (which isn't really a complaint) is that it only has two baby blanket patterns, yet has six Christmas patterns. Wonderful easy to follow directions, with beautiful pictures.

I have already completed one of the patterns and as soon as I can will start another. Directions are very easy to follow whether you're a beginner or highly experienced. The book arrived very quickly and was in pristine condition. I will be looking for other items on the sellers list. Thanks!

When I got this book I couldn't believe the patterns in it. They look easy to make, and the pictures are beautiful. I can't wait to get started on a project from it!

I was taken with this book from the moment I looked through it. It has a diverse selection of patterns, and some very unusual ones (one of my favorites is a children's blanket crocheted and then embroidered with ponies which have tassles for tails--clever and appealing!) Several of the patterns are decades old and have been successfully updated for this book. This is my favorite collection.

I have recently purchased this book and I can't wait to get started on the afghans within. Especially the Old-fashioned Fans pattern. Most of the patterns are crocheted in pieces and sewn together to make them look more like quilts. There are plenty of of patterns to go around for different gifts for family or friends. The instructions are easy to read even for beginers.
