A strong story by the talented Michael Bedard. Likeable, well-developed characters and realistic situations make the eventual shift into the realm of reality-based fantasy strong and believable. I have read and reread this nicely done young adult story several times and each time found something new to admire.

I won't give it five stars, but if I could I would give it a 4 and a half - it's almost there...
